Spoiler, I think this Toyo has it all over the Falken, but let me know where I'm wrong.

The Toyo is a tall/skinny 255/75 r17, specs:
- C load rated.
- 32.05" tall.
- 48 pounds.

The Falken 265/70 r17:
- SL (aka Passenger) load rated.
- 31.65" tall.
- 47 pounds.

Presumption - both the 255/75 and the 265/70 fit a stock 4x4 Ranger, per forum posts and confirmations here and elsewhere. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

The Toyo is taller (by 0.4") than Falken.
Toyo is a C load rated tire while the Falken is Passenger rated.
The Falken is but 1 pound lighter than the Toyo.
Being a tall/skinny, 10 mm narrower (but taller) than the Falken, the Toyo theoretically may have lower rolling resistance. I found no MPG calculations between these two, or between nearly any two AT tires.

Putting aside price differences, any reason to choose Falken over this particular Toyo AT3 size? The Toyo is taller, more robust (C Load) and only 1 pound heavier than Falken. Tread patterns are really similar. I don't care about aesthetics at all, only performance. This will be used in PNW climates, so dry, rain, snow but the Ranger will traverse off pavement in the West, including the desert West for probably 4 weeks a year, at minimum. Not purposely rock crawling, but remote camping road trips ('overlanding' is overused and I hate saying it).

I can't comment on the size, but I can tell you I've had the Toyo AT3s for several months now and I LOVE them. Great traction, relatively quiet. The only negative is the MPG loss (I've noticed 1-2MPG loss), but you will get that with anything different than the stock tires.

Toyo 255s all day. Especially since you are looking at 255/75 a C rated tire.

I went from the stock Grabbers to the 255/80/17 Toyo AT3s. They are excellent.

I've got no hate for the Falkens. I've used their street tires for AutoXing a lot in the past with great results.

And I have no history with Toyos other than my 255/80 r 17 AT3s that I've had on for about 12k miles and through one winter.

The Toyos are great in the snow and mud. I'm really happy with them. Mine are E rated, which might be a little overkill, but that's all anybody makes in the size I wanted.

The Toyo is a great tire, and I would not go below a C rated tire if I planned to offroad anything more than logging roads. And from everything I've seen that size should fit a stock truck.

Go with the Toyos.

I'll vote one for the Wildpeaks, I've had 3 sets on 3 different vehicles, and pick up my 285s WPs today for the Ranger. I love them. I used to only run BFG K02's, but now I'm a WP fanboy
