I’m going tomorrow to look at a 2023 Maverick Lariat FX4 with tow package. One owner 21k miles. Ford certified.

I sat down and took an honest look at my needs as a 61 year old with two back surgeries, one knee replacement down and another on the way.

I’m at a place where I have to face reality. I don’t have the capabilities I once had and I’m not going to stop the downhill slide of aging. I hire folks to do the tough work I can’t do any more.

I need a less capable awd smaller vehicle easier to get in and out of. My camping is moving toward the rustic rental cabin level from truck and tents 😂

Going to look at the Maverick because it does have a small bed that I can use for Home Depot runs and to tow a small trailer with lawn mower etc.

Reality bites, but it is what it is.
71 here and I’m starting to have pains in places where I didn’t even know there were places. Sometimes it sounds like someone eating a bowl of rice crispies when I stand up with all the snap, crackle, and pop going on. So to that end, I have three vehicles and drive according to how the bones feel when I walk out to the driveway. The first of course is the 2021 Ranger which is sitting at very close to 149,000 absolutely enjoyable miles. The second and much easier to get into vehicle is a 2016 CRV (don’t laugh) that I bought from a friend this past June that only had 22,500 miles at nine years old. Gotta love a hatchback. So, feeling good day, climb up into the Ranger. Bones grinding somewhat, sink down into the CRV with dark sun glasses on. 😜😂. And then there’s the Road King.!!!!

Im sure you wont be disappointed with the maverick.. my dads mobility issues (4x stroke survivor and recently diagnosed with Parkinson's.) and the fact that my moms 2015 escape was falling apart… just picked this up for my mom.

As you can see she obviously hates it and it’s low enough that she doesn’t have to step up into it.. also it’s super easy for my mom to get my dad into (we tested it already 😅.) and my mom is able to get my dad out of it easier than with the escape.. huge win..
So if you’re having mobility issues and need a truck I 100% recommend the Maverick….(I still love my Ranger way way more.. but this isn’t about me😅.)

I’m at the sweet spot in height for the Ranger… 5’11”..(6’ with boots on🤭.)
That's funny.
I'm 5'9", same height as my Dad. That's both of us wearing tennis shoes.
