you guys should start a COBB thread for FFS.

every time i see a new post on here, I'm hoping its the OP chiming in on some news...but nopes, its you COBB suckers sucking some more COBB stories.

grow a pair and start a thread of your own, the mods are asleep and not paying attention, it's not that hard.
Yeah, thank you! Hijackers.

To everyone watching this thread, I have an update.... Ford has declined my warranty, due to “all of the mods..”.... So I’m going to get the number, of who’s Ford Dealer is talking to, and have them explain to me, “which mod caused my oil pressure light to come on and seize my engine?? I feel my oil pump failed, and they want to paint a broad brush for the failure, to blame it on the mods... I requested pictures etc... I’ll post them as I get them... my wife said the lady she has been talking too, said there was a hole in the bottom of the engine... But I lost oil pressure, before I heard oil being released.... I’ll keep everyone posted as I learn more...

Have you contacted 5Star yet? Since Ford is denying you and you paid extra for their warranty I would contact them now and see if they're going to step up. Good luck!

Yea Ford is going to have to get a little more specific than that.
What you don’t realize is Ford doesn’t have to do anything. Attorneys will cost way more than the repair. They have plenty of attorneys.

First, they have to prove the tune caused the failure.
Regards
Exactly and this is where it gets messy too. Each one will point the finger at the other and this could be tied up for God knows how long while each are playing games with this poor guys truck.

This is why I don't buy into 3rd party warrantees. They usually get into a pissing match as to who's part caused the failure and meanwhile you're stuck with no vehicle waiting for multi million dollar Corps. to fight this out.

So do some of us.

Are you saying that you just don’t hold companies accountable when they say nope you have to fix it without even trying is all I gather from your attitude of course they have to prove it because that’s the way the world works.

I’m not sure where this myth comes around basically companies just throwing lawyers at it guess what lawyers cost money even if they work for Ford and they have to evaluate the cost of the lawyers vs the cost of the request been given

Heck no. You are welcome to try. But there is a reality that’s inescapable. Vehicle modified. Arbitrators may side with the manufacturer. Just saying.

Sure it's nice to hold them accountable and they should be. The problem is they have way more money than any of use do so yes while they still have to pay for their lawyers their pockets are much deeper than ours. Unless you have a family member or good friend that's a lawyer you're basically SOL taking on these large corporations. I'm all for standing up to what's right but sometimes it's a never ending battle. I think Bret said he's been 3 years battling with someone and yes he finally won but if this was his truck being tied up for that long did he really win? ? Then factor in making your payments and having to keep it insured so in the long run even if you win you still lose.

paid for by??

the sad part about legal proceedings, is the lawyers likely know from day 1 who will be the winner of the battle.
they just play both sides of the lawsuit to milk as much $$$ as they can before they come to this miraculous conclusion and award the victor a small sum of money....minus legal fees of course.

I had a labor lawyer one time....$600 and hour.
he called me once to ask me if I had any new info. I said nope, i gave you all the dirt i had already. Was barely on the phone for 3 minutes.
2 weeks later I got a bill for $1200 for that phone call, 1.5 hours worth of it was refreshing his memory on the case before he called me. the rest was chicken shit incidentals, like copying, office supplies et al.
wtf??

later, after almost 13 months of paying this guy on average a minimum of $1000 a month, i asked him how much more this was going to cost me, as I was going broke.....

crickets.....never heard from him again, left me high and dry and $15600 lighter in the wallet, never returned any of my calls.
fuck lawyers with all my passion. I hate them.
very true

I guess I just dont get the defeatist attitude. Worse case take them to small claims court dont need a lawyer for that.
It's not really a defeatist attitude but a realist one. Who's wanting to spend thousands more than the repairs are worth on lawyers fees and having your truck potentially tied up for years? Not trying to be argumentative but at some point you have to cut your losses and get on with it. As far as small claims court goes I would think the repairs would be over the amount they allow there?
