Not sure, which one has the 2 plugs per cylinder, the old Ranger 2.3 or the new 2019 2.3 Rangers?
The Lima (Pinto) engine started life with one plug per cylinder, later, (1991ish?) it was fitted with two plugs per cylinder for emissions purposes.
So your answer is the OLD original Lima 2.3L.

That the 2.3 liter engines in our trucks are assembled at the Cleveland Engine Plant (Ohio USA).. even though the window sticker showed "Engine: Mexico"
The plant that Rangers are made , was the C-max plant.

Today I had a talk with a person who did not know about the Fob dock used to start a car with pushbutton start and a dead fob battery...
In the Ranger it is in the bottom of the rear cupholder , in front of the armrest.
This is only for Lariat owners who have not read the manual completely.
If you know of it , great... if not... now you do, and that's a good thing!

If you remove the rubber base/liner you will see a little icon of a fob - that is where you'd put the fob for it to work.

Pulled that tab in the picture and found it. Thanks

We need to get Phil his own Sticky... just title it "Back Story" and keep all of these in one place. They are fantastic!
This x1000 (since I couldn't convince him to write a book :))

I was cleaning the inside, and I bumped my radio Vol/on/off button and it came on! No keys in the ignition.

That's normal, since they did away with "Accessory" , it will link with your phone too.
Not sure how long it will run , My TC will run for one hour in that mode.
Push it again and it goes off.

im wondering if that's because you have your cel near by. mine stayed blank lit after getting out the other night and stayed on longer than i cared to stand there and look. when i locked it, it stopped.

Tonight, leaving work, I bumped the turn signal, and it did not "lock" down, and I quickly noticed it was flashing, so when I hit it, I noticed it was in it's home spot, and was puzzled on this, then it stopped..

So i tapped it again and it flashed 3 times and stopped, and I tapped up, and did the same thing.. Huh!

Must be used for lane changes.

Sorry wrong again.
The 2.3L Pinto (Lima)engine was all cast iron,2valves per cyl, single overhead cam, with hydraulic lifters. and a timing belt.
The 2.0L German engine was more of a predecessor than the same engine, at best the 2.3L could might be described as a derivative.
Th 2.0L German engine had solid "lifters".
Later "1983?" Ford did build an actual 2.0L version of the 2.3L Lima engine, offered as the base engine in the Ranger.
It was a bit on the pathetic side, built only to make a pricepoint, whereas the German 2.0L was a fantastic tuneable little "HotRod" engine.
The only pushrod 4Cyl engine ever offered in the Pinto was the 1.6L Kent motor in the early models.
Maybe that's what your remembering?
I had the German 2.0 engine in my stick shift Pinto and it was really fun to drive.
I also had the American 2.0 engine in my first Ranger S, and it was slow, but worked. Never did figure out if the "S" stood for slow, or stripped.
