I have to say I like the size of the fuel tank, don't like the idea of carrying around ~6 lbs per gallon I don't need. Then again I never tow and rarely haul anything so I suppose the first time I do I may be annoyed at the limited range.

Question: if you tow/haul on a regular basis why not just get an F150?
Because it won't fit in my garage, and it won't drive me to and from work without tons of gas and huge trucks are suck in traffic.

Very unlikely to break 400 between fill ups without getting really low. Almost 5k miles here and I've beat EPA estimates on every car I've owned except the Ranger. 360 is realistic with the 4x4, I expect 380 will be possible with the 4x2 with 90% highway at 60 MPH, but 400 is really pushing it.

I've made some videos on it:

Good job! you are certainly taking a detailed look.
I am encouraged by your efforts and ironically, they reinforce my expectations.
You may be over analyzing a little though, especially on that idle issue.
Fact is there are so many variables that each owner will have different results
and those will vary from tank to tank.

You don't have to fill the tank full if you're concerned about lugging an extra 50# of fuel around. That extra 7 gallons makes a huge difference when towing.

As to getting a F150, they are physically too long to be useful to me. The length of the Ranger is at the limit of allowing me to get my boat rig out of the back yard, and it will be a very tricky maneuver.

Ah the same reasons I also chose the Ranger.

This is being very picky but I don't like looking at a half empty fuel gauge, so having a smaller tank that is filled all the time is preferable.

I drive 108 miles a day, and don't fancy stopping daily for gas, so I tend to run it until the "50 miles to Empty" light comes on, then get gas. Pumping gas in Michigan when it's -XX degrees F is to be kept to a minimum.

I have had many Ford cars/trucks over the the years and the new Ranger has the largest tank yet.
My TC is 15.7. My 4.0L Ranger is 16 gallons and gets several MPG less than the new Ranger.
My TC keeps almost 2 gallons in reserve when it flashes ten miles to empty.

My last Ranger '03 was at least 20 Gal, I can't recall what my '93 and '95 had for tank size, but my '93 had a HO 5.0 in it, and 35" tires... I think I got something like 245 miles in the 03 tank, so while this is definitely better than that, the "old" rangers never touted their tow rating as much as this new one does.

You had a SuperCab My Rangers were all regular cabs.
Touting aside... my Ranger has a 6000 pound tow rating. and gets about 18.5MPG when towing my Scamp Travel Trailer.
20 Gallons would be a nice round number but I can make do with 18.8, especially with the better fuel economy I expect from the 2019.
If I expect to be 400 miles away from the nearest station, or can't spare 5 minutes for a break and a fill up...
I'll get a couple of jerry cans:like:

FX4 has the sport appearance in the XLT
I stand corrected the sport appearance package isn't part of the FX4 package. The main item I was looking for in the 302A package was the heated seats which aren't part of the FX4 or sport appearance package.

Next thing that people will want is auto raising and lowering tailgate. It is a truck. Why do you buy a truck when you dont have the strength to raise and lower a tailgate? All of these tinker toys just make the TRUCK cost more.

Thanks for all the negativity! If something doesn't interest you how about you just move along! Have a great day!
