I like that cover. Its retractable like motorized? With the tailgate locked is it secure closed?
I’m not that baller! lol no it’s manually retracting. And yes cover locks so with tailgate locked the box is secure.

Another look at 285s on stock wheels, pre lift and spacers. I think that more than answers the question: will they fit? Way too tight around the “crash bars”. Also doubt it will fit even with the lift on. Will know for sure how much trimming will be needed later today. 2.5” leveling kit and Bushwackers go on today.

Lots of cutting needed!

Unfortunately no time to install rock sliders. Will have to wait when I get my Icon suspension and summer tires/wheels installed in about a month.

Not the best picture but will try and post better ones this Sunday (out of town tomorrow).

Here’s a few before and after pics of my project so far. I’d say I’m about a third to half way done.

Is it just me or do the stock wheels look damn good on this truck?
Not terribly happy with the way the fender flares fit with the front bumper, looks odd from up front. Guess that’ll motivate me to get a new bumper! lol

I love the flush appearance of the tires to the flares. Well done! What size spacers did you use? I'd prefer to achieve the same thing with more negative offset on aftermarket wheels.

The spacers are 1.5” if I remember correctly. I agree with you that wheel spacers aren’t the ideal way to acheive this but keep in mind this is only my “winter setup” and wanted to keep the stock wheels to keep costs down. My “regular set” are Fuel Podium wheels with -12et (offset) to get the proper stance with my 295/70R17 BFG KM3s.
And thanks for the compliment!

I really dig the look of the stock wheels and fender flares. Exactly what I'd like to do. are there any downsides of using spaces? do you need to change the wheel studs to take into account the extra thickness of the spacers?

The spacers come with new studs. Unfortunately no one is making a proper hub centric spacer for the Ranger at the moment, so those are “generic” non centric. I dont really trust those so I’m gonna swap them out as soon as I can for hub centrics once they come out.

Going as fast as I can trust me!! LOL
Wasn’t even sure I was going to keep them after I learned they weren’t frame mounted ... but then I remembered it’s a “Weekend” warrior, not a full time one!
Getting them put on when I get my Icon suspension in 3-4 weeks.
I dont have suspension companies falling over themselves to create a custom kit for me like somebody else I know! lol

Whoever that is must be a lucky guy.

Also I’m stoked to see the rails because I want some but I’m not quite sold yet. I like the function of the step but if they aren’t frame mounted then I’m a little weary.

I did a some looking around on the truck yesterday.. looking at the distance from the frame to the rocker panel it looks as though the body mounted sliders would do a pretty good job of protecting the most venerable area. The frame is close enough that anything large will hit the frame and the slider without doing any damage between. Of course if you are going through a rock garden then you might want to do more than just rock sliders anyways.
