I received the "wave" from a Tacoma, when the right lane was merging and I gave it just enough throttle to prevent him from cutting in front of me. Their V6 gets noisy when struggling.

There is another Ranger in my area that I come across from time to time in the mornings on my commute to get coffee and pup cups. So one day I gave the guy a friendly wave. He ignored me. I was upset by his general lack of camaraderie to a fellow Ranger owner, so the next time I saw him I flipped him off. So now every time we see each other we flip each other off and laugh. Jeep owners have the friendly "Jeep to Jeep" wave. So if you see another Ranger owner flipping you off its just a friendly hello.

I always assumed it started in Iowa. I've never been to Iowa without everyone you see waving to you. People walking. Driving. Riding. All waving. It's exhausting being that friendly when you're from Illinois.

So far, nobody's flipped me off just for driving a Ranger. I will keep members posted...

I have a Vette and we also do the wave.
Going to try the Ranger Flip Off and hope I don’t get my ass kicked.

Oh yeah babe, I've got a Vette, and a Jeep. Of course you don't see many Vette's on a given day, but I would have carple tunnel if I waved at every Jeep I saw.

it needs to be subtle but cool. think Mcqueen Eastwood style. no hyper fan boy waves for a Ranger. Maybe a nod. We need it to be us only so others wonder what we know. . . after a while it will be like the signal to steal a base if we are not careful lol. or we just do the shocker signal...

Yea, most Ranger drivers around here, barely notice mine and rarely wave. Motorcycles riders, on the other hand, wave a lot.

Lucky for you, you both think it’s funny. But road rage is a real issue on our roadways so I wouldn’t recommend trying this everywhere, you might get yourself runoff the road or shot. The Covid environment has made people more easy to anger and eroded their social interactions. Road rage and speeding is way up.
