Seems to me the shop should eat the labor of 70.00 as they should have known to check the carrier for correct angle and informed you about the possibility of a problem, or at least 1/2 off labor charge. Shop should have test drove it too just to see if things were okay and the mechanic may have noticed it from the start.
When a shop does lifts they should know their business, these vehicles are expensive and there would be no manufacturer warranty if things went south in a hurry.
I would be grrr if that happened to my little big man after I had a lift done to him.
