Also have found the ride has smoothed out once I hit 500miles or so and at just over 1K now.

I just passed 400 miles in mine. What type of smoothing out happened at 500 miles if you don't mind my asking?

There’s a 1 mile dirt road between the main road and my house, I have also a GMC Sierra 1500 also...I wouldn’t know what a bounce is...they both drive like a truck is supposed to...

Not at all. Just like anything even slightly mechanical it works-in over time. Not to be confused with "I just got used to it".

Had I not corrected the tire pressure I don't think 5,000 miles to break-in would have made a difference. What's your tire pressure right now?, if you do an APP update and look at it?

Fordpass shows they are all at 36 now, sitting outside for a few hours in 70 degree weather. I thought I had set them all at 38 a couple weeks ago. I've been trying different pressures. I think I've done 38, 36, 34, and 32. I might go back to 32 or 34. 38 isn't bad for the most part, but some stretches of road almost make me seasick.

I recommend taking them all down to 32 if it's in the sun now, that will be right around 30 cold. I think this will make a big diff. for you.

Also, the Lariat allows you to tilt the headrests forward, helps for those long drives and comfrot.

More tire less rim, I have 16” tires with the stock duelers, 35 psi and my truck rights beautifully.

That is why I think they all do it...why don't they match up what is in the door jam??? I hope that makes a BIG diff for you.

Be careful... there are a bunch of different tire size options and a variety of different pressures. What works on your truck may in no way be the same as what Soloer has. Because you have the same "Trim Level" vehicle doesn't mean you have the same tires.

If he has LT 265/65 R17... 38 is the correct pressure.

True, yet if he has the 265/60R -18's he is spot on with 32psi and they will probally drop to 30 when cold for hours. Best to check your drivers door jam sticker as I suggested.

OK, I did some "scientific" research on this subject using a piece of 2x4 pine.


Placed 2x4 behind one front tire of truck 1 (Lariat non-FX4) and backed over it.
Results: 5 back and forth shakes before they become un-noticeable.

Same test behind the same tire of an XLT FX4,
Results: 5 back and forth shakes before they become un-noticeable.


So basically the shocks on the FX4 are either pretty darn close to the same, or they only show their worth at higher speeds.


I also hit a pot hole on a dirt road the other day hard enough to emit a loud bang noise from the passenger side front wheel. Nothing was visibly damaged, but I'm certain the bumpstop didn't have a good time.

Still planning to do coil overs from whomever has the best shocks when I decide to pull the trigger (King or Icon probably). But I want to stay as close to stock ride height as possible.

Like almost every vehicle they are over inflated for shipping and tie down on a truck, train, ship.
