Or just disconnect the BMS and have the voltage regulator control the battery charging voltage. It will settle in and stay within 0.3V at all times. Voltage regulators have been controlling battery charging for over 100 yrs. They just work.

I can say that lately with my Frontier it seems to like to run around 14.7 when it is well below Freezing. I'm going to guess that it is normal for that to happen. It seems as if the lower voltage isn't allowed as much in the cooler temperatures for whatever reason and this may apply for many manufacturers using the Variable Voltage System.

You don't want the battery to overheat from the charge.

The colder weather, the weaker the battery, so you need it at peak performance.

The good news is that the battery can accept higher charge voltages and won't over heat like it would in summer. It is COLD outside!
