I am kicking around going 245/75-17 on stock wheels. My goal was to keep the tire height around 31.5" and less than 255 wide tire. Any known issues running something less than a 255 tire on stock 17" rim? Western, NY snow and rain don't work well with wider tires.

I noticed a difference in the handling of the truck going from 265/70r17 to 255/80r17. Can't take corners as quickly (its not a race car, but I could feel the difference). I'd think 245 would exaggerate that and make the truck quite squirrely.

I did a little modification in order to run 295/70/17 on my Ranger . 295 is like 33" and 11.6" on width on stock wheels

My thought was going from a stock 255/65-17 to a 245/75-17 would give me the height but that appears to be a similar jump you made: +10 on the aspect ratio and -10 on the width. Thanks for info.

I remember when I took delivery of my truck I got so much crap for keeping the stock steelies, I had to keep explaining the look and how I was planning on some 32.5"s or 33"s (high and tight pizza cutters lol). Everyone at the dealer was trying to sell me some of those deep dish specials that you run low pro mud tires on for the poked out skateboard look ?

Looks sharp! Always loved the steelie + pizza cutter look. Kind of "old school cool" feeling.
