Hi Doug,

It will simply not fit in your garage...so give it up and provide me the name, address and phone number of the place that has it please.... :)

Best,
Phil
The teenager has been living the high life for the last year. I'm thinking it's about time we move her Jeep from the garage to the street. A little bit of hardship builds character, right?

Hi Doug,

I agree with building character and to park outside to give you garage space at the same time is a win/win, Especially if there is two ft of snow and it is uphill both ways to and from the Jeep...

Best,
Phil

Like most red-blooded American men I periodically cruise Craigslist.

Found this beauty the other day. And I keep coming back to the ad to see if it's still around. It's sitting at and appears to be built by a local shop I have experience with who does good work.

'48 Chevy on S-10 frame. 4 bolt 350, 4 wheel disc's, drop leafs and spindles, PS/PB, 5spd manual.

They're asking around $20k. It would be a driver for me, just to fart around in.

If I get some earlier nights in this week and/or it's still around Friday I think I'm gonna go check it out.

Discuss please. And throw out any advice you might have when checking it out.
cant talk you out of it! i say jump in both feet! needs a bigger motor possibly.

5 spd in it would probably be weak link that would need to be addressed before applying more power.

Not sure about the rear-end either from the ad.

Perfect. Now that I can work with.

Excellent points about fit, tilt wheel, and electrical. These are the types of things I'm trying to think about going in.

Craigslist ad states the frame to body conversion was done with a code504 kit. Looking at their website their stuff seems pretty legit.
Just get a minivan :giggle:

My friend just added a piece of railroad track as a rear bumper on his old Chevy hotrod build. The very next day was rear ended by a VW. Totaled the VW but barely scratched the bumper.. True story 3 weeks ago.
Timing is everything!

I deserve that! My youngest is almost old enough to transport herself. And until then she can roll with her sis. Looking for something for just me and mama bear now.

I caved because she's got me wrapped around her little finger, we had the room, and she did a lot of work on the YJ. But I think it might be time.

That's what I'm reading on clear. Best to just wax and oil it I think.
