I don’t understand. I updated it a few minutes ago and it gave me that number. Got back in my truck after reading your response and checked for updates again. Went through the update all over again but it’s still giving me the same number.

I had this same problem trying to get the Sync 23188 software updated and I found that I had to do a master reset first. After everything booted back up again, the 23188 update started by itself OTA (Over the Air). No USB was needed. Also, after I did the master reset, I was kicked out of the Ford Pass App and had to reset my password to get back in to that. Everything is updated now to Sync 23188, but I left the maps at NA 2-21. I use Waze and Google so the Nav update for me was not necessary.

Where are y’all finding that 3.4.23188 number? Just updated mine hoping to correct it but these are the only numbers I see.

When doing the shut off the truck start the truck thing after the update, appaerently it is very important to lock the door with the door open once you have shut the truck off. Lights flash, makes strange noises.
I also think the master reset clears out some memory that makes the update easier to perform.

Thanks. I haven’t been able to use my Ford Pass app for over a month. Maybe this will help.

I have done the updates with the truck parked and the motor running, parked with power on and hooked to a charger motor not running and the last update I did while I was driving. All worked equally well.

Installed 3.4.23188 via USB today and it completely fixed all of my issues. Ford Pass works now. Nav stays on course now. On board WiFi works now. And it returns to the last media I was playing. None of that has been right for 8 months. Thanks to all of y’all that helped!

Borrow one or buy the cheapest one Walmart has. It’s definitely worth it. My truck is so much better now.

Get the recommended USB stick, go to the library or a friend that has a computer, download the new Sync version on the stick and follow the instructions to upgrade your Sync system.

Has anyone experienced this? It started about 3 weeks ago, whenever I shut my truck off and restart it the radio will default to an FM channel. Sometimes it will default to SiriusXM channel 0. If it’s on FM and I select SiriusXM as the audio source it goes to channel 0.
Sync is 3.4. 19 Lariat.

Similar problem I always listen to usb music, when I restart truck it defaults to fm radio. And the new update did not fix this!
