I heard from many sources that the 6g will not be officially released until 2024 we may see a few here and there next year. So you will still be able to get the 5g ranger well into the rest of this and into 2023
I picture the 6g being a major crap show like the Bronco is.

Get used to it, I have gotten 5 delays.
I'm ony 6th email delivery delay notice.
That sounds about right, but unbelievable thing happened. My Ranger arrived this morning. I'm picking it up tomorrow. It arrived with a big scratch on the front, but I'm told I can just bring the vehicle back later for bodyshop appointment if I wanted to pick vehicle up ASAP(I of course said yes).

This thread & members in here were really helpful, so thanks guys.

Here's my order timeline for one last time:

  • December 31st - Bronco Order Confirmed.
  • February 14th - With more news of chip shortage, order changed to Ford Ranger.
  • February 16th - Order confirmed, scheduled for production week of April 18th.
  • April 21st - Vehicle in production.
  • April 26th - "Vehicle has been built", then "Vehicle is on its way".
  • April 27th - ETA has changed & "require additional time" to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • May 2nd - Salesman called me that vehicle is on the move, in Illinois(being shipped to Oregon).
  • May 24th - ETA has changed again, pushed back about a week(May 27th to June 2nd this time).
  • May 25th - Vehicle arrived at the dealership & will be ready for pick up tomorrow(26th).

Thanks again for all the tips & information shared in this thread.

Happy for you, enjoy your new ride. I’m confused as to I ordered two months earlier than you and you have yours already. Come on Ford

Thanks, and I agree with you. If there's any pattern how some orders are completed before others, I don't see it. Mine is basic Supercab XL(Cactus Gray), with auto stop/start delete, no sliding rear window, with hitch, FX4 + two STX packages they offer. I don't know if any of those choices & fewer equipment/options sped up the process. When I first changed my order to Ranger, I want to say that ETA according to salesman was maybe end of, or right after summer?

I'm so glad the wait is over for me, but I wish Ford would complete/ship vehicles in order they were received. Clearly, it's not as simple as that.

Who wants to buy a nice 2022 Ranger Tremor Lariat with 501a & tow, Carb Gray located in MA? The one I ordered in January arrived yesterday, right as I was leaving the store across the street from the dealer. Also about the same time Ford emailed me about another ETA delay, so that was funny. The truck looks great, it was a tough decision to pass on it, but after a lot of family begging to keep the Jeep for at least one more summer, I decided to wait for the 6G. This 5G Tremor looks like a really nice truck to fit what I would use it for, but the more I read on this forum, the more I realized modifying an FX4 or similar would suit me better. So, I look forward to doing that with a 6G, no rush.

Success - My order from Ford was cancelled May 12 (ordered Dec 23). I switched gears immediately searching for a new Ranger from a dealer lot.
I am now awaiting delivery of a new Ford Ranger from a dealership in Kansas. Salesman called yesterday stating they received my check & paperwork, and to expect a call to schedule delivery of the vehicle to me in Pennsylvania.

Really nice looking truck. But you and your family with have a blast in your Jeep and that's what matters most.

Still no truck, still no phone call, still in transit, still disappointed
I feel for you, I really do, it sucks to wait and the tracker thing became an OCD thing with me.

I sure hope you get it soon! =)

The LONG wait is over! Reordered on December 8th after my 2021 order was canceled. Picked it up on Tuesday from the dealer, the wait was worth it!

2022 Scab XL in Catus Gray, 101A group, STX packages, trailer hitch, locking diff.

How was it doing the purchase out-of-state, especially as far as shipping the truck to you? I'm looking and found a few, but some of the dealers I've reached out to haven't been very responsive to an out-of-state purchase.

I used truecar.com to find 5 dealerships that had the vehicle I want. I called/emailed each one within 24 hours. I sorted out the b.s. from the real cars for sale by asking "is this vehicle for sale, and is it on your lot currently". so many bait-and-switch dealerships out there. Called Olathe Ford in KS and we had a conversation. Worked on the numbers, the accessories, the cost to deliver, and in 2 days we had a deal.

Had a similar experience with TrueCar with a different vehicle I purchased. And even better, because of a partnership through work, I got an extra $1,000 incentive offer from TrueCar on the purchase.

same experience here, found my build in transit to two different dealers - neither will move forward until the truck arrives so that it can be fully inspected. - Sweet but whats the difference if I special order from you... same likelihood of it arriving damaged.... frustrating.
