Is there any significance to it being locked? Does it mean the 10/17 build date is not likely to be moved, or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

I check every 3 days orso with ford customer service. Call me paranoid for not trusting the practices of ford dealers for the last few years, but as of yesterday I have an actual build DATE not week. Now it is 10/19 day of. And supposedly it’s been moved to priority code 1. Whatever that means

I'm interested in stories like yours. MY22 I assume if you ordered in FEB. Whats your package? Is it soup to nuts technology and all sorts of add ons? Or stripped down to bones? I keep hearing the more add ons, the more delays. Not sure how true that is. Also, what does your dealer say? If you wanted a MY22 , you could probably just order a MY23 and get in the october build group.

The whole episode has been a complete joke and the absolute worst vehicle buying experience ever, hands down.
I just hope you 23 model folks don't have to put up with the crap we did and are still doing.

So, I just called Ford Customer Service as well. They told me my build week had been changed to an actual build date of 10/17. Also told me my delivery window was 10/20 -10/26. She says only the dealer has the Priority Code information.

I placed my order on 8/25. SuperCab, XLT, 302, tow, 18 inch wheels, Azure Gray.

EDIT: Dealer says Priority Code will change to 1 when truck is built....so that info is a little inconsistent with what @patmulligan99 was told.

I too received a 10/19 build date, with estimated delivery to my dealer in CO the week of 11/8. Now we cross our fingers in hope that we don't start seeing the "your order has been delayed" messages come into our inboxes.

It was shipped 11 days ago and now into US trucking and railroad neverland.

I'm not complaining, but these '23 build dates are kind of bizarre given the long waits for the '22 folks.

My dealer also says my build week is now my build date.

My understanding is the last 6 digits of the VIN represent the production number for the year. In my case E03764, or the 3,764th '23 model to be built. Does that seem right? Seems high to me.
