So I ordered 5 falken 265/70r17 tires to go on stock rims. Well the spare rim is 16” not the 17” rims on truck. Wow Ford cheaped out again I just assumed that the spare would be 17” even if it was just a steelie wheel. So now I’ll be hunting a 17” wheel for the fifth tire. Of course I’m sitting in the lobby waiting on the tires and alignment when it was brought to my attention. No biggie just a heads up for those of us who like to have our spare match the rest of the wheels. Oh by the way anyone have a silver painted aluminum wheel pull off in Roanoke Va

Found the problem. Gotta use the ford pass points to buy a full size spare or cough up like 200-250$. Using the points is a headache in itself.

I found a STX alloy here on the forum, installed a TPMS sensor, and use it in a 5 tire rotation. If you do any wheeling or traveling in far flung places it's nice to have a matching spare that you can drive on in bad conditions.

there it is with new shoes, what a pain in the arssss an issue with tpms and the installer had no clue how to fix. I finally got it reset after numerous failed attempts but it fixed itself I don’t know how or why it just did. I don’t want to have to do this again.

Exactly I never know when or where I’m going but when I’m gone I want to have what I may need at any moment

This guy and the TPMS relearn procedure is easy.
with key on, depress brake pedal
turn off key
cycle key to ON position 3 times, leaving in the ON position
depress brake pedal again
cycle key to off, then on again 3 more times
horn honks,
starting at LF, activate the sensor using the tool. When it detects the sensor the horn will honk.
repeat again in this order, LF, RF, RR, LR.
When you get the training complete message, your all good.

It sounds harder than it is. Once you get it, it takes less than a couple minutes to do.

Thanks, so as it turned out the next morning when I got in the truck the tpms fault came again. Then while driving back to installer I noticed a vibration from the tires and that the steering wheel wasn’t centered during alignment. The manager had told me about exactly what you had posted but I told him it was above my pay grade and to just fix it. He pulled all four tires rebalanced them realigned the tires and took care of the tpms sensor problem. So all is as it should have been the first time and I’m satisfied with the job they’ve done and the truck rides and drives nice.

I learned the relearn procedure today. I've been having TPMS issues. Seems I caused it by changing the spare to a road wheel with a 5th TPMS sensor. Evidently a 5th sensor can screw up the system. I put the spare tire back on the steel wheel without sensor and had to relearn the system. All seems good now.
