I have a 2020 Ranger XLT 4x4 Supercab with Fox 2.0 shocks and Icon UCA’s.
My wife doesn’t like riding in the truck because of the stiff ride.
I’d like to swap out the rear springs to smooth out the ride some.
I know APG Deavers, OME and Icon have aftermarket rears. I also have North County Spring that could build a pack.
All it takes is money.
I’m wondering if removing the stock bump stops will eliminate that hard hit the rear takes. Has anybody tried that?

I cut 1/2" off of my bump stops on a 2021 ranger at the rear and it makes a big difference in smoothing out the ride. I then did the same at the front,
also better. Derek

To start you need to inform your wife that it's a truck and not a Rolls-Royce. There is a difference and she needs to understand that LOL.

As for the few Springs you did mention it all comes down to what you do with the truck. If you're planning on lifting the rear old man even was a great spring but I don't think it will work what's the fox shocks. I remember correctly others on here have had issues with the two. As for Icon and APG I know they will both work just fine. Again it's all up to you

Perfect. Thank you. That’s what I was looking for. Someone who has already tried what I’m thinking about doing.

Oh she knows. Her car is the Ford Edge Sport. It has a firm ride, but the Rangers ride is like solid suspension.

It's not the springs, it's the shocks, mostly.

Swap the shocks out and she'll be mostly happy.

You won't find springs at the stock height, so you'll gain rake. And the factory shock is severely underdamped. An aftermarket spring will only exacerbate it.

I disagree. The single leaf spring is the weak point. The OP has already changed the rear shocks to Fox 2.0
I have Icon UCAs and eibacks and the front out performs the rears in rebound and dampening. Multi leafs would improve this.

I will agree that the stock springs are A weak point. That's why I'm running the global multileafs. I did miss where he said he was already running Fox 2.0 shocks. But the multileafs aren't that big of an improvement in ride IMHO, except when heavily loaded.

That being said, for the OP I doubt his wife will be much happier with the rife after a spring swap. But if he's using that to sell her or himself on the coin, by all means go for it.

At a certain point, it's a truck.

I did the same thing. I cut it where the white ring was. Ironically my name is Derek as well. Huge improvement.

OP is getting a ton of non-answers.

OP check out the ROW rear leafs, Tremor leafs, or the OME set.

All of them will smooth out your ride.

I wouldn't mess with shortening the bump stop.
Thanks. I hadn't considered Tremor leafs. And recently heard about ROW. I'll check those out.

Haha, busted. I am using the harshness of the OEM springs to justify swapping out to aftermarket. Isn't there a pack that is more compliant and give extra flex on the trail?
