Yeah I tried that in my 19 Lariat, it only works for one stop. I tried even bigger loads, it don't work very long.
Forscan is so simple, and the yellow warning light they say comes on, on the dash when you stop, doesn't. It's perfect?
Takes longer to plug the laptop in, then it take to change it. Also there are more items that you can change that are great.
Not sure what you're usinfg but mine has been working just fine for 6 months now! You can't use one that has a light sensor or it won't come on during the day!

Has anybody thought about the implications of start/stop on the life of the turbo?

I've always been told to let the engine idle for 30 seconds before shutting down so the turbo could slow down before having its oil supply cut off. With start/stop it's very possible to have the situation where you go from a high throttle to shutoff very quickly.
Yeah, Turbos have come a long way since then. It's not the same as it used to be.

Man, someone should contact ford, they probably didn't think of this!
Kinda like how they didn't think selling transmissions with known issues would be a problem?

While I'm sure they considered the wear ASS would create, lets not pretend like they aren't coming off a major kick in the nads from ignoring potential issues.

It's the worst thing for any turbo, you will coke up your turbo bearing.

:rolleyes: I suppose if you're running boost for an extended period and have the temperature way up then suddenly stop the engine you might eventually have problems, but it's not an issue in normal driving. A small turbo like the one in the ranger cools off pretty quick and doesn't typically run all that much unless you're on a track or somesuch.
