But do you drive like an idiot?Well I have the stock Hankooks, I was told to hate them , 4000 miles in and I still don't hate them , lots of snow last winter , i drive like an idiot, still got to work everytime , lots of rain this spring and so far this summer, I drive like an idiot , sticks well to wet roads, hot interstate pavement , windows down 80 + mph , I drive like an idiot , very quiet ?, low road noise ...
Yes , but I'm in control . mostly ... pretty good record though, legally on the road since 1980 , and about 2 years before that ... more "impatient " than idiot , point being , tires seem to hold up under "aggressive " driving conditions in all types of weather ! ... I NOW DECLARE THEM THE BEST TIRES I'VE EVER HAD !!!But do you drive like an idiot?
Im pavement only , being as quiet as they are im sure they cant be any good in mud , but i thought they did well in the snow , road noise is my biggest thing...I currently have the stock so-called "All Terrain" Hankooks. I can't say how I feel about them yet and won't know for sure until I have at least one winter under my belt with them and have a chance to hit a few of our more gnarly trails and forest roads.
Unless I find them to be terrible on the snow and ice, trails, mud, etc., I likely will keep them until we are approaching the wear bands, where I almost certainly will change to BFG K02's.
I agree on the road noise (which I think people kind of blow off, until they get an aggressive tire that howls, that will give anyond second thoughts about importance of noise levels).Im pavement only , being as quiet as they are im sure they cant be any good in mud , but i thought they did well in the snow , road noise is my biggest thing...
Only way to have an intelligent conversation.Internal debate? Because you are the only one that will talk or listen to
you?
I have always had good luck with Michelin tires going back many years. I have also been pleased with several sets of Hankook tires, mainly in passenger cars. I don't have any issues with them on my truck. Ride nice and are quiet.I personally upgraded my Dueler HTs to Michelin Defender LTX M/S, just 10mm wider (same dimensions otherwise) for something (marginally) different, and I have to say that the truck rides like it's on a cloud compared to the Dueler HTs, when driving over cracks/uneven pavement etc (I live in michigan and the roads are bad).
Part of my reason for switching though was the Duelers were being a pain in the ass to balance correctly at Discount Tire after I got new aftermarket wheels.
The Michelins have reduced the highway vibrations by like 80%, leading me to believe they've been easier for the Discount Tire boys to roadforce balance.
Anything like this happen to anyone else?
Either way, I've been very happy with the Michelins, and I will probably be sticking with these for the Ranger's lifetime!
It's good to hear the stock tire has worked for you.Does anybody ever replace their tires with the same ones that came on the truck? I mean, unless maybe you want to change size, different mfg have different options. But honestly I have nothing to complain about the Duelers. Ride smooth and quiet. Having said all that, I was considering going a size bigger but I don't think the Duelers come in 265/65-17.
