Well I have the stock Hankooks, I was told to hate them , 4000 miles in and I still don't hate them , lots of snow last winter , i drive like an idiot, still got to work everytime , lots of rain this spring and so far this summer, I drive like an idiot , sticks well to wet roads, hot interstate pavement , windows down 80 + mph , I drive like an idiot , very quiet ?, low road noise ...
But do you drive like an idiot?

Yes , but I'm in control . mostly ... pretty good record though, legally on the road since 1980 , and about 2 years before that ... more "impatient " than idiot , point being , tires seem to hold up under "aggressive " driving conditions in all types of weather ! ... I NOW DECLARE THEM THE BEST TIRES I'VE EVER HAD !!!

I currently have the stock so-called "All Terrain" Hankooks. I can't say how I feel about them yet and won't know for sure until I have at least one winter under my belt with them and have a chance to hit a few of our more gnarly trails and forest roads.

Unless I find them to be terrible on the snow and ice, trails, mud, etc., I likely will keep them until we are approaching the wear bands, where I almost certainly will change to BFG K02's.

My 2006 came with Goodyear tires as I recall - wore fine. They were still available in 2018 but a Michelin AT tire had higher recommendations - I went with the Michelins. I'm too far out at the moment to even think about new tires on my 2019.

Im pavement only , being as quiet as they are im sure they cant be any good in mud , but i thought they did well in the snow , road noise is my biggest thing...

I agree on the road noise (which I think people kind of blow off, until they get an aggressive tire that howls, that will give anyond second thoughts about importance of noise levels).

I expect the should do fine in the ice, rain and snow, looking at the siping, but time will tell. ;)

I don't have anything against the Hankook's. I find the fronts rears wore out a little fast
but partially my fault (expected dealer to rotate, they did not, I did not pay attention). I'm debating getting rims & winter tires. I have no idea the
difference between an AT tire with the 3 peaks or real winter tires?
Also, I bought to tow a TT not for off road capability(I really bought too much
truck for my use). So I'll probably be looking for something less then the
Hankook AT once they wear out.

I just bought the fairly new BFG Trail Terrains in stock size and so far am really happy. Did a ton of research and watched a lot of you tube reviews. I don't need KO2's as i only go off road once in a while. Also wanted the three peak winter rating. So far so good.

I personally upgraded my Dueler HTs to Michelin Defender LTX M/S, just 10mm wider (same dimensions otherwise) for something (marginally) different, and I have to say that the truck rides like it's on a cloud compared to the Dueler HTs, when driving over cracks/uneven pavement etc (I live in michigan and the roads are bad).

Part of my reason for switching though was the Duelers were being a pain in the ass to balance correctly at Discount Tire after I got new aftermarket wheels.

The Michelins have reduced the highway vibrations by like 80%, leading me to believe they've been easier for the Discount Tire boys to roadforce balance.

Anything like this happen to anyone else?

Either way, I've been very happy with the Michelins, and I will probably be sticking with these for the Ranger's lifetime!

I have always had good luck with Michelin tires going back many years. I have also been pleased with several sets of Hankook tires, mainly in passenger cars. I don't have any issues with them on my truck. Ride nice and are quiet.

Does anybody ever replace their tires with the same ones that came on the truck? I mean, unless maybe you want to change size, different mfg have different options. But honestly I have nothing to complain about the Duelers. Ride smooth and quiet. Having said all that, I was considering going a size bigger but I don't think the Duelers come in 265/65-17.
It's good to hear the stock tire has worked for you.

You should be able to go with a 265/65R-17 without any problems. As far as going to a different manufacturer it depends on what you are looking for in your next tire as well as what terrain you drive in.

There are many solid tires in 265/65R-17 size. If you are looking for a tire with a smooth quiet ride the Michelin LTX M/S is a solid choice, I have run many of these tires on my trucks with solid results.

If we can help you choose your next tire please let us know.
