So seeing this I decided to hit up Torrie. He stated that generally he does not suggest using his tune in any kind of towing - however my little trailer and King Quad (about 1800 lbs total - trailer and ATV) shouldn't be an issue.

I don't haul anything heavier than that. And if I did I would shift back to a stock tune since I didn't get a tow tune from him.

I gave a custom tune from Unleashed as well - midgrade fuel performance- and when I asked Torrie about towing he said to watch temps. That's not simple with the Ranger and I've only towed a couple smaller U Hauls with the tune. When I went down the East Coast with their 12 footer fully loaded I took off the tune. I only run 89 octane or higher. Ordered the Banks iDash for better monitoring.

That is not a good reference. If he doesn't have a good recommendation on Towing besides watching temperature, I would not tell with any of his tunes.

I dunno. Tow mode itself has more to do with proper operation of the truck, not skipping gears and holding them longer to keep in tge powerband.

Remember that the gear skipping is still normal with a 10 speed transmission. Why go through all the gears when it's not needed? As for Tow Mode helping you stay in the powerband with a load, that is the goal. But keep in mind that it doesn't make it safe if you have a performance tune not designed for towing.
