While building my doggie platform in place of rear seats, I emptied out the left compartment...took jack and tool pouch out. Found a nice little funnel down there also.
Found no mention of it in owners manual, so I figure it's for one of the following...
Used to top off blinker fluid reservoir.
Used to add nitrogen to the tires.
Add oil to engine.
Any advice as to it's purpose and how to use this complicated, but possibly valuable piece of high tech equipment ? :whew:

used for gas in case you need to fill from a container. It opens the 2 flaps in the receptacle

You have to use it to put gas in from a can. (Anti siphon feature) I picked a spare one to keep at home so I don't get gasoline smell in the cab, gives me headaches. This way I can either use a gas can at home or put in fuel additive as well.

Thanks guys...nice to know it's true purpose. I'll recheck the owners manual to see if I can find it, for giggles.
Probably under "Stupid's you do on the road...running out of gas".

Download a pdf version of the owners manual, then search key words. Only way I use it, and the manual layout is horrible.

Digital Version of the fuel funnel page. Save some time flipping pages
AHHHHH !!!
So, you insert the loooong shaft of the funnel into the fuel filler orifice.
I take it that it's self lubricating, and once you pull the funnel out, it will not "drip" ...

This right here! I hate the smell of gas on things, hours or days after they get used. I knew about the need for the funnel before I owned a cap-less tank, so I bought a second funnel for the garage immediately after getting my F150. The in cab funnel is only for road side emergencies, will be left in the box after use, and replaced with a new one immediately after. Nothing with gas goes in my cab.
