Yes, the world is full of moral dilemmas. Here is a good video I saw several years ago at a conference about autonomous technology.
correct you are, humans could do that if we were not posting selfies on instagram or making a tiktok vid.The current pre-collision tech is a reactionary not predictive device . It can not look ahead and anticipate the upcoming event , only use it's sensors to react to what is already happening .

thats a point i did not think of, good call! the lane keep assist is far from perfect. a couple of times it has nearly caused me to crash and i found myself fighting the "system" to steer back on the road. it really does not like it when the road surface changes and the lines painted are choppy or faded. in theory a good system. i keep it turned off most of the time.Judging by the way my lane keeping assist and ACC work. No how, no way.
I don't see how they can have it working when it picks up only one line. I would think it would require both lines to be seen by the system but noooo , it will detect the center line and steer you to the right then there's no line so it just sends you off the road , especially going into a curve !thats a point i did not think of, good call! the lane keep assist is far from perfect. a couple of times it has nearly caused me to crash and i found myself fighting the "system" to steer back on the road. it really does not like it when the road surface changes and the lines painted are choppy or faded. in theory a good system. i keep it turned off most of the time.
