Those are the best looking tail lights yet. Nicely done. Is it possible to find out a little more about he process for us? I would love to replicate that. Can you take some closer pics as well please?

Thanks for the support. I didn’t do the tint myself. A local shop applied the tint. I showed them examples of what I was aiming for and they hit the mark. Paid $150 for both lights with a 2-year warranty.

I’ll send more pics in a little bit.

there are 3 different shades, looks like his are the middle shade, or the light. just gives it a touch of tint. when you go to a shop let them show you each one up to the light to get the amount of tint you want done.

It’s against federal law to impede the out put of DOT approved lights and you can be faulted for doing so if you get rear ended

So people want to reduce their visibility. Take the chance of getting rear ended because people can't see you braking. And possibily getting a fix it ticket; forcing them to remove it. Why?
Yes. Tint the lenses and then buy LED bulbs to make up for the loss of light output.

Found this thread searching if anyone had done this on their Rangers .
I've had good results from Lamin-X in the past . I usually put the light smoke on the headlights to keep the lenses from hazing up after a few years . It stops the sandblasting of the lens also.
After noticing some of the hazing effects on my 2020 Ranger already , I will be putting the light tint on them when it starts warming up next year .

State Troopers in Illinois would start salivating at the chance to right those tickets if you lived near me lol. They look awesome though!

Of course a person can do anything they like to their own truck. This is how headlight/taillight tinting is accomplished by pros: wet sand the plastic completely with 1000 grit. Mix black dye (NOT black paint, dye will allow light to pass through, paint won’t) into automotive 2 part clearcoat. Spray until desired blackness, of course don’t do too much (practicing on a junk light is advised). Do a final clear clearcoat for proper final shine. Enjoy.

Those of you that have the Lamin-X did you install it yourself? I am looking to buy the lights kit and want to try it myself and would appreciate tips. I think this will be my training to see if I can do the clear bra / bumpers myself as local shops want $1,000 for doing the front.
