Thanks! And when you start the truck does it go automatically to the tune you have setup already or do you have to set it up every time you turn the truck on?I'm using one with a custom tune from unleashed. If i was buying a new tuner today i would probably go with livernois. They seem like the most bang for the buck.
The SCT BDX is slow to load tunes seems like it takes forever. There are also updates often and to update the unit you have to return to stock tune.
Great! Last thing, do you notice a difference? I mow lawns for a living so I have a trailer on a lot. So i am looking for more power and better gas mileage with the trailer.once its flashed to the tune it stays that on that tune until you re-flash the pcm again you don't even have to keep the tuner device in the vehicle once its flashed.
I bought one (SCT BDX) Im using the preloaded 93 octane tune. I bought it because I want to change my tires when my factory ones wear out. I will be going up a size to 265/70/17. The SCT BDX has an option in it if you change your tires or rear ratio so it can be recalibrated to give your speedometer an accurate reading. You can definitely feel a difference in acceleration & in the transmission shifts. I didn't want to go too crazy as its my daily driver. I also installed an aem dry flow air filter.Has any one bought this? If so do you like it?
Most of the updates are revised tune files and for those there is no need to revert to stock. But if it is a firmware update the device or the SCT updater software will tell you to revert to stock before updating. I have had it tell me to revert to stock only once since first getting my X4 tuner in 2013.I've been using the SCT tuner for years....on my past two Focus ST's and my current ranger. I have no issues with it. I've also never had to return my vehicles to stock to update the unit. (not that I can remember). I've tried tunes from Unleashed, Gearheads, SSI and 5-Star....in my opinion Unleashed is by far the best. Smoothest, easy to drive, increased MPG and definitely increased power.
First thing I’ve bought for it.Thank You ! ?Most of the updates are revised tune files and for those there is no need to revert to stock. does not do tire size they don’t have the software yet, was the only reason I bought mine,I bought one (SCT BDX) Im using the preloaded 93 octane tune. Yes you can change tire size for your speedometer to read accurately. You tube it. If you can't find it ill go thru the device & explain but its definitely in thete. One of the reasons I bought it was because I plan on going to 265/70/17 when the factory tires wear out.does not do tire size they don’t have the software yet, was the only reason I bought mine,
I put mine back to stock and threw it In the console, have had 5 star tunes on a few 5.4s and they were fine but they must be easier to tune because the one for my ranger sucks imo
