Good day fellow members.

I'm thinking of rustproofing my truck. I've always rustproofed my vehicles for the last 40 yrs.
I'll be using Krown or something similar. Anybody have any issues?
The reason I'm asking is some people I met had issues were the material used
ate some rubber part, not sure which, I've never had an issue, so just kinda
ignored their complaint.
I need to check if Ford has something in the warranty about 3rd party rustproofing.

Tks.

I’ve been using Fluid Film for the past 10 years, on several vehicles, with no issues. Last fall, I had New Hampshire Oil Undercoating (the waxy version) applied to the Ranger, and have seen no deterioration of rubber parts. My Ford dealer (Grappone Ford in Concord, NH) recommended it, and offered to have it applied before delivery and included in the purchase price. I hear nothing but good about Krown, but they are too far from my house to be useful.

I will be rustproofing my 2021 Lariat FX4 this fall.
I think you cant go wrong with many of the dripless rustproofing out there for our Canadian (salt) winters. I havent heard any issues about rubber problems.

My opinion is that you need to do it almost every year and it will pay off.
Good example is that I just sold my 2012 Ram 2500 cummins....the body and frame were pretty much just like new after almost 10 years and 350km because I applied it every year. My resale value was higher because of it.

My only issue is that it the rustproofing makes it a little messy if you need to work on something under the truck.

@Advnirvana

I had the same experience, might be dirty to work on but better then all that rust.
I was just wondering due to the guy that mentioned issues but he's the same
guy that said not to use a torque wrench for the wheels, kinda says it all.
My Suzuki went in to get a cross member changed due to rust. They came back
wanting to give me my $ back because they thought I had bought a new one.
It took 5 mins of me telling them I never got that changed, undercoating is awesome.
I don't think it's required every yr, just the first 2 then every 5 yrs. It's not expensive so
every yr is fine.

Live in New England and have been using https://por15.com/ for my restorations and new cars within first year on the road. Not only salt now but the chemical treatment I think is worse than the salt use to be. This stuff keeps it from getting started

I use krown in the cans once a year it’s worth the money I spray it in every hole I can find the fist application then just do a good covering the next seems to be working for me done it this way for about 4 years on a f250 takes about 6 cans it still looks brand new.

Best stuff is Rust Cure Formula 3000 available at crappy tire. It won"t harm rubbers and plastics.
It wins all the tests when applied correctly.

Another vote for Krown here in Southern Ontario. They seem to use more salt than we get snow. Been getting it done yearly on all my vehicles, with great results and never any issues.

Just got my 21 XLT done last week.

Got mine done in late summer, Huile Metropolitain, like Krown but less costly.
Seems we have lots of regional choices.

I had Krown applied in Feb, and the driveshaft carrier bearing went bad a short time later. The dealer was asking some questions about the rustproofing but didn't deny warranty coverage.

My Dad applied something called "CorrosionFree" or something like that and had issues with the rubber seals swelling at the door handles, seals and a few other spots. I will stick to Krown.
