This was my truck with less than 600 miles on it... CA owned, not even two tanks of gas in it. What do you think of that?

I have been in the auto business 30 years and have yet to see a chassis this bad on a brand new vehicle....Sorry, but Ford missed on this undercarriage! If this was my Truck I would be mighty Pissed Off!

That don’t happen if you looked under new truck and painted driveshaft, cv axles, and A frames. Mine took two can’s of spray paint Krylon Black ant-rust $4.50 . Look under truck and keep up with it. Also treat all rubber boots and tires with Aerospace 303.

NO Vero Beach Florida.....Worse Area.....Ford Screwed Up...

Every frame looks like that in Michigan on like the third snow storm. Even truck on dealer lots look like that. Ford, GM, FCA, all of them.

I'd be more concerned with the frame openings near the rear tires holding 1" of powered salty dirt...

My 2020 has rust on cross members and it lives in the south no salt air or on the ground. It also had a gas in oil problem. With only 3400 miles

Spray this on it. Neutralizes rust , turns it black and acts as a primer.

Absolutely nothing better...the underside of my daughter 2000 Dodge Neon was rusting and i bought 3 cans of that Extend, coated everything but the exhaust and no more rust!!!

Yes. I would be concerned. That looks like it’s made from cast iron and there is a nut/bolt going through there that is filled with rust; so corrosion between dissimilar metals is happening. This isn’t even a part that should be iron. Mine is aluminum. Maybe yours was wrecked and they replaced parts with something they got from eBay.
Well that nut/joint and the aluminum knuckle on your truck are also dissimilar metals..just sayin.

When I restored my 87 Squarebody some 5 yrs ago I brushed POR 15 on the underside of the bed floor. Stands for “paint over rust” if you’ve never heard of it. It’s supposed to be a rust converter, transforming rust into a paintable primer. I thought, at the time, it was probably a bit gimmicky but others I knew swore by it, so I used it. Well, a few months ago I got around to Raptor lining the bed and body worked some dents on the bed floor which involved hammering on this bed floor and breaking loose some of this POR 15. Well I can tell you it does Exactly what it’s supposed to do. Nothing but absolute bare metal directly under the POR that busted off, no rust in sight. I’m a believer now.
