My delivery date of Feb18th is now 15 days ago...and in 3 days I leave across the country for 3 weeks of work.
Not looking good for me at the moment.
My delivery date was the 17th and it has not been shipped yet. Is yours in transit?

Looked on the Ford Build Tracking web site and my window sticker showed up.
Ordered 12\31\18
Scheduled Build 3\11\19
Scheduled Delivery 3\31\19

Getting Close!

I over looked the fact that it is now indicated as in production!

@RedlandRanger I had a EXtang solid fold on my previous Frontier (2011) and have a Fold-A-Cover on my current Frontier (2016); be it a car wash or Eastern NC downpour I have not had any leaks with either. But the Fold-A-Cover is not as easy to remove when not needed. They are both about the same price. The EXtang is lighter so not eating into the GVWR numbers. Also I had managed about 1-2 more MPG with both and that is saying a lot for my Frontiers with the Nissan 4.0 V6, strong motor but not very good on gas.
Thank you for the info. It is what I will probably get. It seems to tick all the boxes I was needing.

Does a cover actually help with gas mileage? Knew a science teacher who said a "scientific" study was done on the subject and they found that a cover makes no difference on gas mileage. I would think it would help but he seemed pretty sure there was no difference.

Both times I have had covers on my frontiers I have averaged 1-2 more MPG, but only on highway trips, did not change any for city/local driving. I have logged enough highway miles in both frontiers with beds covered and uncovered to confidently say I think it is good for 1-2 extra MPG. Also since the hard covers have a texture kind of like the golf ball dimples it tends to break up the laminar air flow, Mythbusters did a show and showed to dimple effect was for real. Covered an old Taurus in clay it was funny but conclusive.

I've looked at several covers as well, and the Extang Solid Fold 2 is at the top of my list currently. If you get one, please let me know what you think of it. My reasons for liking it are exactly as yours. I want a cover that will protect, but is easily removed when I want to use the full bed. I've seen mixed reviews as to how watertight it is though. I don't need completely watertight, but mostly watertight would be nice.
I have had an Xtang on my 2011 Super Duty since new. It is mostly water tight but not perfect. The new ones are said to be better. Easy on off and relatively secure. I will be adding one to my Ranger.

It will go by train. All stickers say convoy on them because that is how they get from the rail yard.
