My truck is being delivered to a dealership just west of Portland and my window sticker says it's being convoyed. I was a littler surprised when I saw that because of the distance but I guess that's a good thing after reading about the rail yards.

Anyways, mine just got built as my Fordpass is letting me try and activate now. Here's hoping it makes it's delivery date of March 10th as I'll only be in country for 2 weeks to take delivery
Correct me if I’m wrong @j0shm1lls, but does your window sticker also say “Convoy”.

I thought that was Ford speak for train transport.

They all say "Convoy" don't they. I think most travel by train and then on the car carrier for final destination delivery.

Yup, it does say convoy.
Weird. I've seen window stickers with RAIL on them and I figured those were by rail. There must be something else going on.

Not sure if I missed the answer but does anyone know if the overtime shifts at the Wayne plant are having any effect on speeding things up? Also has anyone heard about a shortage of certain components at the Wayne plant and how that is going to effect the time line as well? I have done some internet searches but not getting any information. Would very much like to be a fly on the wall at the Wayne plant...curious to know what is going on

The conclusion by the Ford insider is that instead of 5 shifts @ 8 hours, they will go to 5 shifts at @10.7 hours. That's only 13.5 additional hours per week, or a 33% increase in production.

This overtime news was a total PR move, Ford has really been blindsided by Ranger demand. Personally I'm glad the Ranger is supply limited, that makes mine more valuable.

I need to talk to some friends in Final to find out what they're being scheduled like (or perhaps @wildosvt can chime in). Pretty sure by overtime they mean finally running a full 10 hour shift or bumping that up to 10.7, however I think they can only go as long as 10 since they are on a 5x8 pattern right now. Maybe the occasional Saturday but that will depend on how quickly they can get parts in. My understanding is some parts are still a little slow rolling in. Supply chain is more global than it was for the Focus.

I am sure it won't take long for them to start playing games with the overtime rules spelled out in the contract too. What they probably need to do is add a second shift in final (Body and Paint are already 2 shifts) as I have been saying for over a year now when I first found out second shift was being cancelled but the company absolutely steadfastly refuses to do that before the Bronco launches (whenever that ends up finally happening). They certainly won't do it before the contract expires in September, that's a great thing for the company to have in their back pocket and just one of the myriad reasons I expect negotiations this year to be more contentious than 2015.

At maximum overtime they can only make 670 a day or 3,350 a week or 13,400 a month. However they have barely cracked 400 a day only a few times since production started.

You’re right. Final seems to run 650-670 per shift. That’s usually a 10.5 or 10.7
By fuzzymoomoo from the Blue Oval Forums.
My entire time there before I got moved to body in August I don't remember getting past 650 very much, even at 10.5 or 10.7 and something tells me they won't be getting close to that any time soon. They've only gotten to 400 a couple of times so far.

At this time I will take the 33%increase, but I suspect it is more a case of short parts from the global supply chain that is really the biggest reason why things are going at a turtle pace. Thank you for the information.

The 5th Gen Ranger is a stop-gap for Ford, and it really shows in the design, advertising and production.

The scared cash cow is the new Bronco and 6th Gen Ranger, those projects are getting all the money and resources.

So in theory at 33% increase from 400 a day it becomes 532 which is roughly 2660 a week and 10640 a month, IN THEORY? On top of what they have already built and shipped and my last 5 digits are 24147 so March might still be realistic as long as the train cars are available. Anyways keeping fingers crossed.
