Hence why I've started looking into higher spec Rangers. Just my luck that the one I would switch too is "probably on the same train" as mine according to my dealer.
I started with an XLT but after some thought figured that as long as I am going to pay a premium and make this my one vehicle for the next ten years I might as well get what I want.

I ordered around Dec 20th. estimated delivery is 3/17.
Ordered
Has anyone who ordered a SuperCab with 6 foot bed received a VIN number or build date? I ordered the SuperCab because I want the longer bed for camping and hauling my motorcycle. I am wondering if Ford is building SuperCrew cab models first.
Ordered Scab Dec. 6. Delivery date March 10. Wanted a six ft. bed for a shell and carpet kit to camp and sleep in.

You guys are going to drive your selves crazy. But at least you will have memorized the VIN. Ordered 8/31 blend 1/11 production 1/16 after that all I know is in transit. The dealer had to tell me. That tracker is not worth a rats a$$.

Day 2 of “In production”. I am pacing back and forth like an expectant father. My delivery date is 2/24 here in So Cal. The last days are the longest.

Here is something for all of us to consider plus my 2 cents.

So here is an update that I think all will be interested in:
I have so far contacted, the dealer, Ford Customer Service, and a link into the Plant.
The plant says we are done when built, Customer Service just points to the dealership and the last update I have is that the vehicle is trapped by production vehicles that are set aside due to lack of components. Below is the current status:
3973.webp

As you can see the vehicle has been released and awaiting shipment since 1/31/2019, where this has been planned for 2/3, 2/10, and now 2/28 with a manual override. Now the "tracking" site identifies "Awaiting Shipment" to take from a few days to a week.

Bottom-line here is do not sell your current ride (I did) based on the information in the Ford Vehicle Tracker. I now have no car and plans to leave for FL. on 2/14. Right now I am a fully frustrated and dissatisfied Ford customer to the point of looking at Colorado's. Yuck.

My Reply to that post ....
Are they really that incompetent, that they would block in completed trucks, with those awaiting parts. Maybe we all need to look at Canyon's or Taco's.

Now further thoughts.

As all can tell I am really frustrated with Ford's lack of concern for their guaranteed buyers. At least let us know the why's of any delay.

Wow - both those stories sound eerily familiar..... What makes no sense is the comment in one of the stories about rail car companies cutting back when demand is so high. That makes zero sense to me.

I'm hoping I won't be in that situation - all the trucks I've seen come into Portland have been via truck (convoy).

I hope no one here falls into that same trap - 50 days of sitting is just insane! You would think someone at the car companies would do something about this. They don't get paid for the vehicle until it is in the dealers hands, do they? If not, that is lot of $$$ just sitting in a parking lot doing nothing. Someone somewhere is certainly losing money on a vehicle that just sits.

My truck is being delivered to a dealership just west of Portland and my window sticker says it's being convoyed. I was a littler surprised when I saw that because of the distance but I guess that's a good thing after reading about the rail yards.

Anyways, mine just got built as my Fordpass is letting me try and activate now. Here's hoping it makes it's delivery date of March 10th as I'll only be in country for 2 weeks to take delivery

My sticker indicates convoy as well and I’m in So Cal. The tracker reflects my truck is day 3 of “In production” with a delivery date of 2/24. I’m not betting on that happening.

You can confirm with your dealer, I don’t trust it either.

Finally some good news for you!
