Or to the “really real” Cherokee from the ‘70s…

Dang, but don't that look great?

Part of me says I'd love to have one, the other part of me remembers owning an actual AMC built product (1979 CJ7) and it tempers the desire a bit.

Even in the pic I can see the misaligned door. But Jeep has made some great looking rigs.

Always makes me think of this...

Got the new wheels and tires on last night. Alignment is knocked out and the steering wheel is turned off-center a tad from the curb strike after the blowout, but there are no other issues. The Hankooks seem quiet, but do ride a bit different from the Bridgestone HTs.

With the alignment being out, I figured it's a good time to install those Eibach Pro-Truck shocks and springs I have in the garage this weekend! Wasn't planning to do it until the weather cooled off, but might as well turn lemons into lemonade

Speaking of Lemonade, I now have a full size spare with one of the two original tire/wheels that didn't blow out. I'll take a picture of the full size and spare Side-by-Side. It's a significant difference in height.

If anyone now needs a spare STX SE Rim, reach out as I will have three available shortly, once I get the blown tires removed. One has a gouge I polished out and the rest are dandy.

And the lug nut my wife took to her windshield two weeks ago!:curse:

Was she in Alberta at the time?

thats sucks.

reminds me of one trip i had to do into the gas fields of Alberta...

Rental Dodge Ram, and a tent trailer.

got a flat on the trailer. put on the spare.
drove a bit and the lugs came loose. tightened again and drive a few more km.
got another flat.

left the trailer and continued to camp.
lost brake pressure on the truck.
a rock crushed and split the brake line. fixed it temporarily with a golf tee.
headed back to town the next day to fix the trailer tires (all three, spare included). and get the brake line fixed on the truck

found broken studs on 3 wheels. one had two gone.

got tires fixed. got truck fixed. headed back to get trailer and get it into camp.

Had another brake failure on the way. same issue......fucking Dodge shit.

Sad, helpless feeling for sure. Maybe we should start a thread “Where did they tow your Ranger today?” ?

Reminds me of when, years ago now, the 18 wheeler in front of me hit the base of a large traffic barrel that flew up and hit my truck (a Dodge Ram 1500). It cut through my front driver's side fender, blowing out the front tire, then embedded itself in the rear bed, blowing out the tire on that side. Fortunately, I was able to safely get off to the side of the interstate OK but it was scary. The truck had to be towed to the body shop since the debris was too firmly wedge in.

Wah hapun?
That was last year when my battery gave up the ghost at the cottage - thank goodness for 24hr roadside assistance and a great local Ford dealer in Kincardine.

I might have cried a little bit as it rounded the corner. ?

Anytime it's leaving on a tow truck you have to find the silver lining:

It wasn't in a crash
It wasn't a suspended license
It's on a flat bed, not a wrecker

Happy it all worked out :)

I hate it when you are driving down the road and you pass a few cars pulled over with a flat, sometimes multiple flats. Then a quarter mile later is another car with a flat. Then a few yards past there is an 18wheeler with a few flats. Another mile later a few more cars all with flats. My sphincter shrinks up so tight and I spend the next 20 miles wondering when my tires are going to go.

Only thing I can think of was that the police recently used spike strips back there and some of the spikes were broken off and left on the road.
