I used this speaker harness adapter: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120725602/Metra-72-5602-Speaker-Wiring-Harness.html?tp=3097
I didn't use the stock tweeter wiring, I just tucked it out of the way. I ran a new wire from the adapter harness up to the tweeter.
I too hate splicing wires.
Let me take some pictures of my extra FOR-11CK harness and try and explain what I did. (Yeah, I have an extra. I bought two because I figured I'd screw one up and didn't)
Here is the harness fresh out of the package. You'll notice the bare ends are all taped together.

I got the T-Harness here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D9W3CHY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It had a ground and power wire in it that I didn't use.
Disabling the DSP got rid of the factory bass roll off and factory time alignment. I didn't have any fake engine noise to begin with.
There is dampening on the backside of the door panels, I probably should have added more though.
