Tried my remote start and nothing happens (single red flash). Looked at the settings and Systems was checked. I unchecked it and still won't start but now there is 3 red flashes on the remote. It has never worked. I tried once this past winter but didn't pay attention to why (working from home so I don't go out that much).

Anyone have any issues like this? Thoughts on what to try?

Thanks,

Might need a new battery? Otherwise it the receiver module in the truck. You have more then one remote?

I have two remotes and they both don't work for remote start.

If the remotes work to lock and unlock the truck, the remotes and the receiver module are probably fine. The BMS system may have disabled the remote start feature do to low battery in the truck. The truck needs to be driven routinely to keep the battery charged or the Battery Management System will shut down some of the features to preserve power. Some people use a battery maintainer to prevent this if not driven often enough.

Is the vehicle still under warranty?
Yes, I have it going to the dealership on Monday. I was hoping it was a setting issue but might be more of a programming issue.

Bet this is your problem.

Try remote starting from Fordpass. If it also doesn't work that would all but confirm it for you.

Went to the Dealer and they showed me how to use the remote. I guess I wasn't hitting the button twice fast enough to start the truck. Coming from a Jeep Wrangler, there needed to be a pause between hitting the button or the Jeep wouldn't recognize the command. Not so with the Ranger. The operator error has been resolved.

Noe to worry Mark, you're not alone. I've done the same type thing at my dealer. I couldn't figure out why the Lane Keeping quite working on the wife's Mustang. I took it in, the tech walked me out to the car, and pushed the little button on the end of the turn signal stalk. That'll teach me to search the manual better next time. :)
