Went to the Dealer and they showed me how to use the remote. I guess I wasn't hitting the button twice fast enough to start the truck. Coming from a Jeep Wrangler, there needed to be a pause between hitting the button or the Jeep wouldn't recognize the command. Not so with the Ranger. The...
Tried my remote start and nothing happens (single red flash). Looked at the settings and Systems was checked. I unchecked it and still won't start but now there is 3 red flashes on the remote. It has never worked. I tried once this past winter but didn't pay attention to why (working from home...
I usually keep mine at 31-32, especially in Spring/Fall when the temperature fluctuates a lot. I don't like it when it cools off one day at the tires end up at 28.
It will help a bit for sure but it isn't the same has 4WD, not even close really. I played with the locking diff in snow versus 4WD this winter and it helped a bit but if it is really slippery both wheels end up spinning instead of one. With 4WD the front will pull you out if the back slips. I...
Good to know, thanks for replying.
For me, I was trying to get the bolt through when the shock slipped out. The nut dropped at the same time and I didn't put enough focus on that side leading to the error.
I will use the blue loc tite and see how it goes.
Hey Everyone,
I installed new rear Bilstein shocks this weekend and made a small mistake on the divers side. I placed the nut on the bolt at the bottom and missed placing it in the sleeve. I didn't notice the error until after tightening the bolt completely, crushing the sleeve. I tried...
Great to hear! I ordered a set for the rears on Friday, hope to see them early this week. Looking forward to installing them.
What torque setting did you use?
How do you like them? Have they removed most of the bounce and sway from the back end? Trying to decide between these and the Fox shocks.
Thinking of Fox as they seem to be more widely available for a bit more. Thinking about any possible warranty issues?
Has anyone here ordered from Essex Distributors in Canada? Looking to order a pair of Bilsteins for the rear and their name keeps popping up in searches.
Per another thread on here they are M6 bolts and you use an M6 x 1.00 tap to clear them out.

I used the M8 x 1.25 tap to clear out the holes for the middle...
Success!!
I used the tap as many of you suggested and it worked. A small amount of metal fragments came out so I suspect the bolt started to cross thread at some point. All is good.
Thanks for all of the advice.
I can't really tell if the bolt hole is stripped but the bolt is now stripped. May be due to trying to install it with bits of the spray in liner clogging the hole. I tried a new bolt and it doesn't want to go in easily so I stopped. Now I plan on trying the tap to clear out what might be in...
One of the bolt holes for a tie down is stripped (damaged). I read that I can use a tapered tap 8x1.25 to fix the threads.
Is it that easy? Is there something I should know before doing this?
