HI Dave,

I support you and the other MODS on your decision. I was a moderator on the NAWCC Forums.
I know first hand what a can of worms this can be. You folks done good! I remained mostly hands off on responses to him....His contributions were far outweighed by snarky contributions. My take is he was a predator for those that appeared weak and shied away from those that appeared strong for the most part. The Forums are much better off without his "contributions" than with him and active member....

I am sadded that the behind the scenes almost resulted in you throwing the towel... You are a good Mod...

Best,
Phil
Hey Phil,
I couldn’t agree with you more, fortunately he has a warrior spirit. As a Nam vet like my brother and other brothers in arms I can see it. Unfortunately many others will never know what I’m talking about but it’s what I see.

NEVER GIVE UP THE SHIP!! Ok yeah I’m Navy…

Please KJ, you're going to give me nightmares!
Yeah, I decided it was too soon. I'll let a few weeks pass first. It may end up another of my poor attempts at humor. I probably only have a 75% success rate but if I don't keep trying, I'll never get better. ?

? I’ve been to a couple of AFBs and the chow rules are way different, order eggs how you want them, omelets too, linen tablecloths and then don’t you dare try to bus your own plates and drink ware… crazy difference ? but Navy chow is a notch above with steaks, fresh pastries..

my First post in a few months. I’d love to know how to delete my account. I’m fully fed up with the assholes.

You make this forum what it is Dave! A willpower crushing, damper and graphene pushing addiction. BUT that's a small price to pay for the friendship, knowledge, and the incredible beauty in the pics people post of the wonderful places we have here in the US.

The agonizing months waiting for a truck that I never test drove were made bearable by all the information I learned here. By the time the truck arrived, I felt like it was already a comfortable part of my day-to-day life. And that's because you, this forum, and so many members are what made my Ranger so awesome.

It's not so much the truck, but all of you that give the truck its heart.

I deeply appreciate all that you do Dave and you're incredibly good at being the moderator. You keep us on a positive path (yeah, there will be gum getting stuck to our shoes - graphene helps with that - and maybe even a rusty nail with the possibility of tetanus) but you veer us back to the high ground (extra appreciated by those of us with only 2-wheel drive).

This forum is the nicest I've ever been on and a lot of that is the behind-the-scenes stuff that you, and others, do. Not easy tasks and mostly unnoticed. But that's the sign of a true professional, you make it look easy and manage to also keep us all happy. Well ... almost all of us. And those that want to poop on this path, well, they can go poop elsewhere and I'm glad you can show them the door.

And lastly, don't worry, I'm starting to load up for a dump run this week - friggin' asphalt shingles weigh a zillion pounds ...

Just waking up from a week away from home to see this, Dave.

Been on many forums (and even moderated on a few) over the decades, and seen plenty come apart at the seams due to bad member behavior. It would be a shame to see it happen here; this place really is one of the best forums I've ever had the pleasure to be part of.

Without question, you're one of the best mods I've ever seen; you are an active member while also being super dedicated to your Mod responsibility; many don't realize that significantly increases the stress level from having to balance the line between those two roles very carefully. Most forum mods just shy away from posting as a member and keep the Mod hat on all the time, and the community loses out on the great personality that originally helped make that person a good Mod candidate. So please know that there are those of us that understand this aspect, and appreciate your efforts immensely.

I dare say, with some of the drama this forum has survived already in just the short time I've been here, we are blessed to have you sticking around. If you're ever in my neck of the woods, first few beers are on me.

I will miss his funny zingers but not his cruel comments, the dancing video game banana was a bit creepy.

You have a hard job as a mod, but at least this place is much more civil than pretty much any forum I have been on, keep up the good work!

Thank you everyone for all the kind words and the encouragement to come back. I honestly didn't make this thread to be about me but to try and shed some light as to what's been going on, what we all do here that many don't see and to move past what has just happened. RP was "controversial" at times but was a long time member and I didn't want any more disruptions in future posts going forward. In other words please refrain from bashing him or anyone else as it doesn't do this forum any good.

Also I posted this in the thread below. Many aren't following it so I'll repost it here because this really is a special forum and a great family we have here!

https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/thre...ive-thoughts-needed.19543/page-13#post-461338

Posts and threads like these make me proud to be on this forum! I know most of us have never met and maybe never will but the bond here is really something special from any forum I've ever been on. It really is an honor and a blessing to be part of this family we have here. They say the Jeep community is tight but they don't hold a candle to what we have here. God bless you all and thanks for making this a special place for all of us.
