I placed jacks under rear frame, removed the U-bolts and jacked up the axle on one side off the springs, put the block in position with new longer U-bolts, reverse installation and move to the other side...

Does the block go on top of the shim?

Did they include instructions? I think the blocks go on bottom of spring if you want to lift...not sure it can do the reverse...I recall there were register holes on the block to keep them in place...don't remember about any tapering...are you using Eibach blocks? Those are what I used...

I would run from that block.

The Ranger leaf springs are weaker than hell and have been known to bend on their own and even break. They have also been known to bend around backward over lift blocks. I'd go with the BDS lift shackles before I installed the block.

I have had my Eibach 1" blocks for 25k miles not one issue. They do what they are suppose too. I did not install them but my mechanic said it was very simple thing. Give me a bit of rake. That said my next suspension upgrade would be multi pack rear leaf springs.

I run a 1" eibach block in combination with autospring leaf helpers. So that probably resolves any possible breakages regarding factory overload leaf.

The blocks simply go under the leafs. Undo rear shock bolt, undo 4 leaf u bolts. drop axel a bit, put block in, reassemble. 1 hour job for both if that.
