so i have the thunk coming to a stop and the thunk leaving from a stop that everyone says is slip spline lube. in my searches i see various posts on various car forums/groups about axle wrap causing something similiar. i thought back to when i owned an 88 big bronco and i had the same thing and at the time my mechanic suggested new leaf packs. i replaced the packs myself and as i recall, that took care of the thunking- axle wrap ended up being the casue and stiffer, or just new springs the fix.

i took a look at my leafs and see what this person saw in their post on another ranger forum- not our new ones though:

https://www.ranger-forums.com/suspension-tech-36/leaf-spring-out-alignment-normal-138611/

I have this same sort of alignment issue between the leafs. on the passenger side the lower leaf end closest to front of truck is further out towards the tire than the upper leaf is. they are not parallel. the rear part of the leafs are parallel.

on the drivers side, i have the frontmost side of the lower leaf in more toward center of truck. the rear part of that leaf seems pefect to the other leaf above it.

what's going on here? is this "normal"?
