Rangers in SNOW

[Swingpure]

Our snow has been adding up. Went to town today to see the dentist and get gas. The bed extender was great for containing the 4 containers of gas. Pretty sure it would hold a fifth one as well, but I just needed to fill four today. The snowbanks are not overly high as they have been recently pushed back. The one picture of my lot shows how much snow we have.

Wow - picturesque!

We received a skiff of snow here on the south shore of da BIG lake today and took a few photos for you guys. Actually dearest took them of me pushing snow and happen to catch the Ranger in the background.

I few more snow photos. Wind switched to the north so we are receiving lake snow today. We needed it!

Here is a few snow photos taken today. Our base remains good but with warm temps all this week with a chance of rain, skiing can't last long. More are on our dogs blog.

This picture from this past weekend.

I'm impressed with the Ranger's trail mode. On the way in, we encountered two lifted Dodge 3500s on really good tires blocking the road because they were stuck.

I pack a tow rope and shovels, so we got them out. I found that I was able to get through the exact same conditions they got stuck in without too much trouble. In all honesty that they were terrible drivers (i.e. trying to solve traction problems with horsepower) was a major part of their problems, but I could feel the transmission doing its job.

3500's aren't too good in the snow. Small trucks are really good in the snow

First snow here in probably almost 1.5 months (deep freeze in early February and it's been well above freezing since then pretty much). Started as a pretty heavy rain, then has transitioned in and out of snow. Producing huge, fat, wet snow flakes. We're supposed to get anywhere from 4-8" of nice wet heavy stuff overnight. We'll see what actually happens. Most of our snow base has melted in the 50-60F sunny weather we've had for the last week.

The ice/slush buildup on the front from only a 10min drive home from work. One of the biggest reasons I'm hesitant to upgrade completely to LED. My fogs and turns are LED, were on, and are well covered. Low beams aren't because they're still hot halogens.

We've had rain and warm temps here, so our snow has really gone down. Here is one of the cities snow dumps as seen today. More was being dumped there as I took these photos.

No Ranger, but fun in the winter!

Seen at Lake Ste Kathryn NFS campground near Sidnaw MI today.

Drove back and forth to work for a week. Only about 5 or 6 inches of snow but did fantastic

No pics. But we got about 2 ft over the weekend here in the Denver Metro.

We shovel early and often at my house so driveway was clear. They NEVER plow residential streets here.

Pulled out of the garage and tried my old man method, 4 low, rear end locked. Got out into the street and was slightly hung up.

Got out to shovel, threw 2 or three shovels full, and thought a bit. I had noticed the "advance track off" message when I hit 4 low and wondered if all the doodads I paid for would do the work for me.

Got back in, 4 high, snow mode, rear locked, trail control set to 2 mph. Climbed right out.

Pulled a Ram out of the deep stuff on my 5 block drive to the liquor store.

Ford Fucking Ranger!

BTW with better tires than the stock Hankooks I doubt I would've got hung up in the first place.
