Just curious how many people are experiencing wind noise with their Rangers. My 2023 has had really bad and loud wind noise, and some water intrusion during heavy rains, since Day 1. I installed the OEM side window air deflectors (stick ons) hoping to cut down on the wind noise, it did not. At around 40 - 45 mph, the wind noise sounds to be on the drivers side, but behind me. At 65 and above, the wind is whistling right into my left ear, and sounds to be coming from the rear upper corner area of the driver's window. While riding with me, the lovely wife says there is wind noise on the passenger's side as well, but the noise coming from the driver's side is WAY louder.

Finally took it in to my dealership, and after 5 days of trying to sort out recurrent CELs, strange electronics glitches, a dash tray that suddenly popped out of the dash, and the wind noise problems, I was informed the the OEM Ford Side Window Air Deflectors (VKB3Z-18246-A) are the cause of the wind noise. I've always used AVS branded air deflectors in the past with absolutely no problem, and the OEM ones look suspiciously like they were manufactured by AVS, to the point of being indistinguishable. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I'm am seriously beginning to think my Ranger was built at 4:59 on a Friday.

Ford does not make accessories. They're rebranded from LUND, AVS, ect.

My Ford accessories window visors(stick on) and hood "protector" are actually from LUND. Even the paper work to said accessories were printed by lund. Same deal with AVS.

As for your wind noise? I have lots of wind noise that came from my mirror and upper corner of my door. I used foam seal on my mirror mounting surface which helped some. Some folks re-aligned or "adjusted" their doors so the rubber seals sit tighter.

Surely the dealer can tweak the doors, it's pretty easy to do.

Lol I keep forgetting about that recall.

I heard quite a few people share your results; Wind noises settled down/eliminated after getting recall done.

That said, does the recall extend to the 2023 models as well?

I know Ford does not make their own parts, I've been buying Fords for 50 years now. Actually the ones they are showing me look exactly like AVS packaging, only the packing has the Ford/Lincoln brands and logos, is printed in blue and silver Ford colors, and with Ford part numbers. I'm sure its purely coincidental they look so much like their AVS counterparts.

Yes, they can easily replace seals and rehang doors, you just have to convince them that it's THEIR problem and not someones else's first.

Apparently not. Per Ford, "All of the Broncos that are subject to the recall were built between December 8, 2021 and April 12, 2022. The build dates for the Ranger are December 17, 2021 through April 12, 2022." Mine was build 12/22. And we know TSBs and recalls never extend into a new model year.

I'm simply trying to find out how many people have encountered this issue, and what the fixes were. Pretty sure mine is either the driver's door window seal or a door that needs to be rehung.

I have this wind noise, but mine kicks in at highway speeds over 65. I figure it’s coming from the B pillar, but it hasn’t bothered me enough to investigate.

I'm assuming you have the sedan (CrewCab)
Early on there was some gasket or door fit issues for the rear door.
Not so with the coupe(SuperCab)
Maybe check and adjust the rear door??

Mine had wind noise, ask the stealership to adjust the doors a little tighter on closing.

His water intrusion is what would scare me. Pics of where it is might help others look for stains. The recall definitely made a difference on mine.

When I first got mine it was really loud at highway speeds, bugs were crawling around on my dash and I would get soaked when ever it rains...that's when I decided to keep the windows rolled up and everything is perfect now...

SuperCabs have wind noise if you don’t close the half door properly. Once you close them the right way no issues. I have the AVS stick-ons and if the window is cracked just slightly you get a little, but that’s to be expected. Keeps the rain out at highway speeds nicely.

A little bit of a thread revival but does anyone have any guides to adjust the doors, I've been dealing with wind noise issues for the last 1+year.

I already had one dealer replace all my windows seals last year which fixed the noise coming from the mirror area of the driver door although it eventually came back and sticking a sliver of weather stripping behind the seal has fixed it....but as of this week the noise from the driver side passenger door seems to be increasing.

Will probably need another trip back to a dealer

Just curious here, I have a 22-Crew, and I am trying to determine the wind noise some are hearing.
For me if I am at 50 MPH or so and it is windy outside, I can hear the air rushing by the driver's window. No whistling sounds.
I have checked around the door panel and glass for any air movement being felt, nothing noted.
Sound wise it does appear to be coming from upper rear corner of the glass.
Note I even used my fingers and pressed outward on the glass and seals while driving to see if any noted difference, none noted.
Now mine is not anywhere near annoying, just noted is all and wanted some input from others if the wind noise you are hearing is the same as mine and appears to be inherent for the Ranger or is yours louder and more prominent.
I have a smoke tester, and this is one thing that's on my list to look at and see if anything can be done to address it more for just curiosity and also if something noted, air leak area it will most likely be the same for other Rangers.
I have a feeling the noise is just the airflow through the door itself, possibly inlet air from the mirror, as my finger push on the glass and seals while driving should have changed the sound level of it.
It could also be pushing air into the door from the door drains as well.
With the weather getting colder, it should be easier to feel around the door and locate any cold airflow.
I will know more after my smoke test is completed and will update with my results / findings.
