I'm waiting for someone to decide to add a toilet paper bypass oil filter like they used to do in the 70s. You can still buy them!

I fitted a Franz bypass oil filter to my 2017 ranger after seeing how dirty the oil gets the filter works fantastic but it was a bitch to fit

Try a 5.4 in a 04-08 f150. My dad had one. What a pain. Or any new car for that matter. This truck isn't too bad.

As you know getting at the oil filter for a change is a challenge, thinking of installing a remote filter just wondering
if anyone has any thoughts on this of has done it.

Actually, after doing this a million times, it's one of the easier jobs compared to other vehicles...newbies gives this process a bad impression...

If you don't have a shield, probably not...with one you'd need a hose so you don't have to remove the shield everytime you drain the sump...
