I just went and priced a cowboy hat with a custom Ford logo and I cleaned my glasses because I wasn’t sure of the price. Yup, it’s what I thought it was! ?

Hi Keith,

It is not too hard to do....just walk in to Arizona Hatters, With help of Chuong Trinh, Select your size and color and plunk down the credit card... Put your old hat in the box and the new hat on your head... Walk out...
I had a friend who loved RC airplanes and I went to watch him fly them once. I think he had a P-51 Mustang and a Spitfire. There was an obnoxious guy at the strip - bragged a lot about how much his planes cost - had some nice planes and a very nice Stetson - it looked brand new. He was fussing with his plane, trying to get it started, lots of cursing and no cooperation from the plane. Finally, it fired up and he was holding the stabilizer and revving the p*ss out of it just to make sure. He leaned forward to unclip the battery lead wire. Well, he leaned just a little bit too far and his new Stetson fell right onto the propeller and it tore the hell out of it. Man, he was pissed but the rest of us sure had a good laugh. ?

Yep...Arizona Hatters can repair hats that look like no way can that be done. When the Rodeo is in town the cowboys will bring in hats that were stomped on by Bronco or Bull and Chuong Trinh can wave her magic over the had and restore it to like new. Most of the cowboys wear Resistol when riding Bronco or bulls, roping caves etc. She has completely dismantled mine twice, cleaned it and sewed it back together. Amazing woman!

Where I live next town over Foxboro MA home of the NE Patriots was, at one time long ago known as the hat making Capitol of the world. Around mid 1800 thru mid 1900’s from my understanding.
Years ago a friend was renovating a mid 1800’s home there. We were going down to studs and in the walls were all these hat molds. Found like 20 or so of all shapes and sizes. Pretty cool that they lasted for so long and stayed in one piece. He sold some to collectors and some went to the local museum. Pretty cool process the way they’re made.

Phil,

How do you drive with a cowboy hat on? The darn headrest gets in the way. If you take off while driving, where do you put it so it doesn't fly on the floor? ;)

Hi Rene,

I do drive with my Resistol Hat on but not with the Stetson as the brim is much to wide. If I need to remove the hat, the hat lives on the rear seat behind me in the SuperCrew or in the Nautilus. In our Motorhome, the hat parks on the dash in the middle between the left and right windshields.

My dad has a hanger that mounts to the passenger sun visor in his explorer. In the Lincoln it hangs on the passenger head rest.

Hi Robert,

Here is the proper way to hang a cowboy hat. I made these, but many ranches have similar in their entrance Hallways.

Serratelli above Resistol hanger... Stetson to the left out of view... Margie's Resistol Cowgirl hat above Stetson...

Why do I have the urge to go buy a cowboy hat again? I have not owned one in over 10 years.

I do still have my old Roper work boots though and a newer pair of Ariats but have not worn either in a few years. They are not kind to my peripheral neuropathy.

Happened to me once when I was in one of the Stetson hats stores and there was like 5 gran hat out there. Apparently, it was some famous country singer and was selling "for charity", but still, 5 gran is 5 gran.
Personally, I'd never pay more than 150 bucks for a hat, last one I've got was Stetson Apache Buffalo from https://gritroutdoors.com/ outdoor sports store, but that's like as high as I'd go for a hat.
