Precovid Rangers, Covid Rangers, Post Covid Rangers - yes there are changes over time but Covid ain't got nuthin to do with it.

Did you ever hear someone say "bad things always happen in 3's."
Then they list off a bunch of stuff that happened:
1. Uncle Charlie died.
2. Burt lost his job at the mill
3. Your sister LuLu has an STD, might want to get checked out

Not getting into their family business but Uncle Charlie was 84, the mill has been closing down for the last 5 years so they saw it coming, and LuLu is the town whore. None of these are really shockers. If it caught them by surprise and they can count to three OK let them have it.

But then they go on... Oh there's more bad stuff in 3's:
1. My neighbors cousin back in Ann Arbor, Myrtle, was in a car wreck
2. The church pastor got caught stealing money from the offering plate and humping his secretary
3. Little Billy Solomon down he road was maimed in ceramics class when the kiln exploded.

Ok - Now we have enough to de bunk this. People think bad things happen in 3's for three reasons:
A. They dig and mine other peoples miss fortune to round out at three
B. They count things that were pre-destined to happen and could be seen further off than the weather channel can see a hurricane
C. THEY STOP COUNTING AT THREE AND START OVER.

Same BS logic behind the whole "Pre Covid" anything. "I noticed the other day that Pre-Covid Toilet Paper seemed much smoother and softer." No... It's toilet paper. Your pre-covid ass was just a little tougher before you got soft living in your bunker for the last 24 months.

Post-Covid Quality Rant Over. Carry On.

We only have 17k on ours, it's mostly a toy though, the wife and I use it to explore the local neat stuff that a normal car can't get to. For day to day boring stuff we used to take her Tiguan, she upgraded recently and now we take her Macan Turbo. That thing make me hate my Ranger, lol. If I get the jones for some real acceleration I just drag my KTM 1190r Adv out of the garage and put some wind in my face.

Purchased my Lariat FX4 in March 2021, today I was notified that Ford is buying back my lemon. 4 months and 7,100 miles of ownership followed by the next 79 days at dealer for repairs to the rear axle and carrier bearing Email, instructions, etc should be in my hands in 5 days.

I will let you figure out what category it falls into.
Will they take into account the current market values? It's almost certain that you couldn't replace it with something similar for the price you initially paid.

Thats weird. I made a lady boy joke about that and no one said anything to me. lol
That's cause you Concierge at the Gray Bar hotel ?

Only matter what I paid back then.

Based on what I see here and other boards and FB groups, between the 'Rona and Ford taking money out of the trucks, there are more build quality issues with the 2021's. Axles and carrier bearings going out at low mileage, transmissions, things like that are common occurances and not normal. No issues so far on my 2020 except for the transmission downshifting roughly when you come to a stop. Couple times it was bad enough that I looked in the mirror thinking I got hit from behind.

If you’ve spent any recreational time in Bangkok, “ladyman” stories are endlessly amusing :)
Just the name "Bangkok" is funny enough. :D

Lessee, my wife's sister died from cancer in June at the age of 53. She had been staying with us while getting chemo since we live about 80 miles closer to the cancer treatment center. Was a little strange having her in the cooler at the crematory when she was walking around my house the week before.
My cousin died from cancer also, he was much older, in August.
My dad died from amyloidosis two weeks ago. Died in the same hospice in the exact same room as my sister-in-law. We didn't tell my mom, it would freak her out.

My mother-in-law has stage 4 cancer but oddly is walking around just fine like nothing is wrong.
So that's three this year, four is still wait-and-see.

@RANGER PRIDE so what you are saying is we are all dead when we are born eh? our feeble brains don't know it yet? and then "life" is just our brains learning that fact eh? winter depression must be kicking in up north guy

I have nothing useful about COVID Rangers to add, but I once had a teacher in high school who told me "Life is a sexually transmitted disease. Everyone gets it, and it's always fatal." When I tell that to people, they always say things like 'that's morbid' or 'how awful' but I hear it and I think it's liberating. Reminds me of the quote

Kurt Vonnegut said:
"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely, in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy Shit, what a ride!"

you get. I have been dead. That's why i drive a hearse. everyday in the front seat is a good day. no matter how bad work was or the olady nagging about nothing. I'm not in the back and everyday has been a blessing. either you get it or you don't

Haven't read the whole thread...bit of a train wreck in a couple of places.

But I'm glad I got a "pre-covid" 2019 for these reasons:
6 tie down points in bed instead of 4.
Keyless lock/unlock sensors on all 4 doors (Super Crew) instead of only fronts.
Rear set headrests flip down.
Engine cover included. (See posting about water accumulation around spark plugs)
I think more sound deadening material???....at least on lariat.

Purchased mine april 2020 $9k off MSRP and 0% interest for 84 months all because of the overstock then couple months later the shortage slowly started
Same here. Got my '19 brand new the first week of May 2020 when they were still flush with cars but not customers. Got a good deal, a decent amount for my trade-in and 0%. Seems we bought at the perfect time. I'm actually very grateful I bought then judging from what's been happening in the past year. It would suck to have to be someone who really wants/needs a mid-size truck right now.
