Super happy with my Ranger. Bed is getting beat to hell, tows awesome, has creature comforts, and just an awesome pickup. One of my best cars ever owned, and my very first brand new car! Im 48. Always bought used.

man this thread is hard to follow!

Best thing about a pre-COVID Ranger? I only have 12k miles on my 2019 ?
Same here, man, I picked up my pre-Covid Ranger Lariat in summer 2019 and only have c. 15K on it now. Normally, I would have been north of 50K by this time....

I bought a covid Ranger. Build date Oct '20. It's had no problems and I've driven the shit out of it. Almost 15k since December.

It's build date does concern me though. I've watch individuals and organizations forget what little accountability they did take over the last couple of years. Sad to say, but once again, I think I've lost faith on humanity.

I took my '20 in for an oil change yesterday and one of the salesmen found me and offered me 5k over whatever I owed on it, on the spot. They're appraising all vehicles getting oil changes apparently, and mine is pristine, with only 2 add-ons - a Bedliner and 2 swing cases. I told him no, and he asked "why"? I told him I'm not selling my truck for a measly $5k. He said "No, $5k over what you OWE on it!" After a few more back and forths, he finally got it. I paid it off in August. I countered with $35k and he said it was too much. They know what they're doing. I bought it for $34k. Lariat with FX4.

2019 models had aluminum upper control arms. Most of 2020-21 model's did not.

We only have 17k on ours, it's mostly a toy though, the wife and I use it to explore the local neat stuff that a normal car can't get to. For day to day boring stuff we used to take her Tiguan, she upgraded recently and now we take her Macan Turbo. That thing make me hate my Ranger, lol. If I get the jones for some real acceleration I just drag my KTM 1190r Adv out of the garage and put some wind in my face.

That has nothing to do with Covid era produced Rangers, though. :)

There are several threads on what all was removed since 2019.

The reason not ALL of the 20-21' models had aluminum upper control arms was because of the lack of aluminum due to the pandemic is what was concluded back in March of this year.

If that's the case, but I thought it was all 2020's.

Its much much deeper than that. But if we laid it all out, there'd be some mama's boy who will complain that he's offended and it'll be taken down. Just like my post that was taken down for being "racist" because I warned that if you want to date a certain ethnic woman who does a very sensual demonstration of a Ford Ranger, she might not be a woman after all. I am sure you can read into this much deeper than what I've written, at least until this is taken down because some little mama's boy who is 40 years old and still living at home (who NEVER left) complains about it.
Thats weird. I made a lady boy joke about that and no one said anything to me. lol

If you’ve spent any recreational time in Bangkok, “ladyman” stories are endlessly amusing :)
I did get in trouble once for referring to myself as a Jew and making money jokes.

I am in fact Jewish (big flag on side of my truck kind of gives it away).

I don't blame the moderator, but yea someone got ultra butt-hurt about it apparently.

I remember that conversation, and I took it as a humorous poke at an age-old stereotype. These types of discussions tend to get out of hand, but people really need thicker skin.
