No you cannot turn them off - but you can turn off the (Display and Warning) only they are still operating, they do self Deenergize - when you get up to speed if I recall 5- MPH - If you deselect the switch it’s the same as the ASS - only good for current ignition cycle - I have tested and verified this information to be correct ,

The Ranger is my first vehicle that had all of this tech. Now that I've had it I like (most) of it and it'll be hard to not have it again in another vehicle. Sure some of it is annoying like when the red warning goes off on the dash when someone's taking a right turn. Overall I like it and the way people are (walking right behind you when you're backing up) it's nice to have an extra safety net in place with all the sensors and cameras.
The problem is people that have the tech. & walking (just like there driving) pay no attention to their surroundings & assume everyone has all the new tech & that you know that they are walking behind you when you don't. You are the bad guy for almost hitting them. Worst than walkers is the guy driving up the isle 50 mph & your backing out. :headbang:

True, but I've learned you have to be alert no matter what you're doing. I guess it comes from years of riding motorcycles and always having to be a defensive driver.

We were waking down the sidewalk here and saw a neighbor down the street backing out of her garage. We were about 3-4 feet from her driveway and I told Annie to wait. Good thing because she never looked and just came barreling out into the road. She never stopped or even gave a look just kept going. I mentioned this to another neighbor and he said "Oh, she does that all the time and has hit the UPS truck and the Mail truck".

I used 4L today and after I went to 2H the pre collision detection unavailable error appeared. Does anyone have that Issue? Ford Ranger lariat tremor
When you switched from 4WL to 2WH:
How long did the message stay on?
How long did you wait before you started moving?

The system has some lag time - to settle in to commanded mode, and the system has to readjust expected wheel speed (sensor) outputs and the Yaw & Lateral sensors to settle.
Plus, it is normal for the (pre collision) to temp disable (while in transition) between 2WH and 4WH or 4WH to 2WH - as this is the (Shift On The Fly-Allowance) so you have transitioning (wheel speed) sensors between the front & back - so the system temp disables while that transition is taking place,

So, if you (Paused) in 4WH before reaching 2WH - this is the reason for the message, but it should have cleared within 10 seconds of the transition to 2WH.

It I'd on the console and had what looks like a parking cone and a P on it. The word OFF lights up when you press it. Resets with each key cycle.

On the console in front of the cubby. Some Rangers have more buttons than mine does but it’s in that cluster.

Thank you! I have used that to shut off the backup sensor, while in reverse but never realized it also killed the 360° sensors.

Maybe I misunderstood what folks were referring to. This only shuts off the parking sensors rear and front (if equipped).

Or I misunderstood.
I was thinking the sensors (8 I believe) front and rear bumpers. They have gone screwy on me, on occasion.

I can't see but it kind of works LOL
they put the camera in the darn wrong spot right where the airfoil sucks up dirt and snow, I run my thumb over it when I get in sometimes but by the time you get somewhere its dirty again!
