Here's the Installation instructions for the Ford Swing out Tool/Storage Box. As someone had asked, it does mention installation with a Drop in Bed Liner or Spray On Bed Liner. Minor clearancing may be required for the mounting screws.

I'm curious if the directions from Ford have any mentions for the drop-in bedliner. I know people have been saying it works fine in their spray in, but looking at pictures and looking at my bed I have a hard time believing it would fit in my drop-in. That being said the Ford website doesn't say it's incompatible, so I'm curious what the directions say if anything.
I also have a drop in bedliner and looked into this option. Unfortunately the liner doesn't closely follow the contour of the bed, so trimming the liner is required for the swing hinge to fit.

Here is a link that shows the problem and SwingCase's solution which is a non starter for me...

My dealer had mine installed by the time I got there, which is not my usual preference. Anyway it looks like the liner will tear around the tie down screws, so use caution if you have the spray in. Maybe you can score around the head of the screw with a box knife?

That’s what the Ford Installation Instructions say, Enlarge the hole around the tie down point mounting holes with a box knife.

nice post !! can up open the top with a bed cover on the Truck closed or do you have to open the bed cover before opening the lid?
Nope, no can do! Have a soft roll up tonneau and it’s a couple inches from the top of the box. Have to swing the box out to the tailgate to access the box insides or roll back the tonneau.

I looked at that and considered it but opted to pass as it would interfere with the Bed Extender which I definitely wanted.

I have 2, one on each side. (Added a few things to it
https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/slight-mod-to-the-ford-oem-swing-out-tool-boxes.2397/)
I actually converted the passenger side to hold my onboard ARB air compressor :)
The brackets it comes with seems pretty sturdy, the actual tool boxes themselves are decent size and quality.
(Although I wish the material was a bit thicker, or heavy duty)
It does help organize stuff in the bed, if that’s what you’re looking for.
PS- the cup holder feature is not useful, as anything you put on it would just slide off.

I would like to hear from anyone that has a spray-in bed liner. Tell about removing the tie downs and screws to mount the swingbox

You just have to take some bed liner material off the bolts, to gain access to the Torx head.
I used snips and small screwdriver.
(think of it as really thick rubberized paint, you have to scrape it off somehow to expose the bolt/screw heads)

On the Ford drop-in there does appear to be "cutouts" in a sort of Y shape near where the boxes would go, so I was hoping that maybe that was to make it possible to install them. It looks like some cutting is required for the brackets at the very least.

Was that a Factory Spray? A GOOD Bed Liner installer would have taken the screws out and blocked the joles and reinstalled them AFTER the Bed Liner went on!

I have two and am very happy with the instillation before I picked up my Ranger Lariat.

The factory doesn't mask or remove anything. The tie-down hooks get covered screws and all.
