Phone mount option

Was looking for a good phone mount option and I found this one fits all my needs. It’s the magbak case with the magnetic mount. For reference my phone is an iPhone plus max (whatever the larger one is). It survived the Texas heat and handles bumps/potholes/ rough terrain like a champ. It’s wireless safe so I can still charge it on the dock at night. With minimal screen blockage and no more two handed mount I just throw my phone up on the magnet and go. Since us with tremors have upfitter switches in the normal dash where a builtright mounting system would go. I have found your solution. Hope y’all enjoy this as much as I do.

I have a QuadLock mount that holds my phone at an angle to where I can be seen in FaceTime and still look at the road. But it's been so cold, and I can't get the adhesive to stick, so the thing just sits in my glove box for now.

I pick up my two new mounts today, Scosche magicMOUNT & CD Slot Magnetic Mount (yes, 2 phones, work & private).

Will chuck them in tonight and give them a try. They have very good reviews, so I'm hoping I have finally found a setup that works for me, because I'm sick to death of cheap mounts that don't hold.

I too got the quad lock because I already have the phone case. Pairing it with the Builtright dash tray insert. Will post pics once installed in the truck.

Installed the Scosche ones last night. Didn’t even stick the metal plates on phone, just slipped between cases and phones. Did a few hundred km today, including some bumpy stuff and perfect. Best I’ve ever tried, didn’t move a mm. Also no bulk added to phones, and instant on/off. Stoked.

I had of of those in my 4Runner and did thousands of km off-road with no problem what so ever. Can't recommend their mounts enough.

Those trays look pretty dope. But I have Tremor upfitter switches where the tray would go, so no try for me.

Here it is installed. Very solid mount, took it off road the next day. Also managed to keep all tabs intact.

Yes, this is the type I want but the Bulletpoint version. Did you have to drill the dash tray to mount that version? Did you have any troubles getting the dash tray out and back in again?

I don't have my ranger yet. And used Android Auto years ago on a rental. But with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, why would we still need to see our phone? I just figured once my phone is hooked up using Android Auto the phone would just set in the console tray.

Yes, this is the type I want but the Bulletpoint version. Did you have to drill the dash tray to mount that version? Did you have any troubles getting the dash tray out and back in again?

Yes I had to drill 4 holes to mount the Builtright plate. As for getting the tray in and out, it is a tad finicky but I managed to keep all the tabs intact. Still no rattle. I used some automotive interior trim tools to get it out.
