My wife noticed today that there's no oh shit handle above her head on the pass side. When I'm driving, she likes to hold on. :surprised:

I haven’t yet read everyone’s pet peeves but now that cold weather is here in my neck of the woods.......the floor heater is not as efficient as my old 97 model.
:(

Really? If anything the heat works too good.

23 degrees, and it was too hot with temp half way

Really ?

Well, you know what they say about opinions.

But I do love those heated seats.

Comparing it to my 97, all I used was the floor heat but it was also a standard cab.

The ductwork may be larger so it appears to not be blowing as hard, as compared to my 97 or to heat the cab as quick.
Floor may be a little week.. But there's more vent under the seat for the back seat.

I've noticed that my right foot gets plenty of heat but my left foot still seems a little chilly sitting on the side footrest. I was trying to check if I had a leak along the door seal down there but it seemed fine, certainly no worse than any other vehicle. In the end I did notice that my left foot was in fact warm, just not burning up like my right foot was. Not necessarily related to your issue, but something I've noticed.

It's certainly the easiest vehicle clock I've ever changed. None of this 'hold this physical button while the clock cycles through the whole 23 hrs' or anything like that. So it was certainly an upgrade for me.
I just moved from SoCal to Arizona so I didn't have to change the clock :D

You could always block off the rear vents with a rag or something. Easy enough to remove if required.

Time for another Lone's owner is an idiot peeve. On my other vehicles, so equipped, there are the outlines of 2 cars with warning lines on the side mirror. When they signal "danger, Will Robinson" they flash. On the Ranger, I could get the dot light to flash, but not the outline icons. Tried everything, thinking it had to do with trailer towing. Moment of clarity hit when I realized that, on this vehicle, the outlines were just printed on and the light was all there was. There's probably a special school for owners like me.

After seven months and 6,500 miles I've got a couple. Hope Ford reads this forum and at least considers some of the excellent suggestions in this thread.
1. Cruise control buttons. I've owned a number of Ford vehicles in the last 30 years and it seems EVERY one had a different button arrangement/location. In the Ranger I have to take my eyes off the road to make changes. The very best I've ever experienced was the button arrangement on my '13 Focus ST. The bottom of a "V" turned the cruise on/off, he upper part increased speed, the lower part decreased speed and the paddle underneath toggled cancel/resume.
2. Environmental control buttons. I don't use voice control to change the temperature and prefer the buttons. The temperature increase/decrease buttons are so small they are difficult to see in the daylight, impossible at night. Can't tell you how many times I've turned on "max defrost" while attempting to adjust the temperature. A simpler set of controls for auto heat/air would help a lot.
3. I too would like a heated steering wheel. We'll probable see it in the next update to the truck.
4. The ability to lower the rear seat back flat for loading seems like an easy fix.
5. There are six red lights on the dash that reflect on the windshield for collision alert. It would be nice if the two outer lights were yellow and signaled a vehicle in your blind spot. When the headlights were on those lights could default to the mirrors as they do now.
6. My Ranger is a Lariat. The dash arrangement REALLY needs a water temp gauge imbedded somewhere - just like the XL and XLT have. The bottom of the speedo seems like a good place.

All my peeves are with the interior. The interior is something "in your face" every time you get in. Ultimately you will make a decision as to whether or not you like your vehicle. A lot of that decision will depend on how that interior meets your eye and the ease with which what you want to do, is done. It needs to be as good as it is possible and no expense should be spared. A couple of hundred more bucks is money well spent.

The Ranger was extensively vetted in Australia and everything was A-OK when they put it on the boat. Perhaps you should try sitting in the right seat? (And, yes, I agree - there are some vexing things in the cabin.)

Toggle the left screen and you will find a Fuel Gage/Water Temp combo set up. I keep mine displayed as a rule...

You can also touch the Climate button on the home screen to get heat/ac control on the big screen. I'm slowly learning to use the electronic stuff instead of the redundant buttons. Still not perfect, but better.
