Has anyone tried this air dam out ?

It looks like it could save the project IF it actually works.

I would hate to throw more money at a lost cause...

I can’t imagine this would really help that much? Maybe I’m being pessimistic lol try it and see what happens. Worst case, it doesn’t help at all and you have to deal with the noise. ?‍♂

Another wild idea… When my ladder rack on my work truck was making noise and whistling, I wrapped a rope around it and it stopped. Same concept as hood antennas having the spiraled design. Maybe wrap a piece of cord around it? It would look hideous but might work lol

I've had a little success with this, spiral wrapped a black piece of Paracord around mine without about a 1.5" gap between wraps. Worked a bit

I have the Prinsu roof rack and a light bar. There was a little more noise from the roof rack, but when I put the light on, I didn't notice any difference. Having just the light up there is creating a lot of places for the wind to create noise.

I also have mine on a front runner slimline rack with non-cutout faring. I recently mounted it below the front crossbar and behind the faring. I use it so rarely that it's easy to remove the faring of I'm out wheeling at night. Now it's only the noise of the roof rack which is plenty quiet for my taste

I think for the issue you're trying to solve, moving the light bar farther back might help. Right now, it’s mounted on a part of the roof that still slopes downward, so it’s acting more like a roadblock than a ramp.

If it has to stay in that position, I’d be more curious about raising it slightly to allow air to pass underneath. Think of it like putting a spoiler at a 90-degree angle, it creates a wall of drag. That’s essentially what your light bar is doing right now. We need somewhere easy for the air to go for the noise to go down.

I would hate to spend $100 on that air dam and it not work. It's riveted in place so the bar would be drilled. Thus, making it un-returnable. Right now,,, I can still return it. All I've lost is the time wasted on making my own brackets.

If I scrap the roof bar, I may re-do my hood lights. I'll either cut & weld my brackets for a different look. Or I'll buy different lights that have a longer reach.

I have dumpy XL halogens and spend my money on 303, so my aux light solution is like this:

I think I've figured it out...

1) If I choose to continue with the roof light bar idea: All I will need is a $200 bracket kit,,, a $225 curved single row 50" light bar,,, and a $150 air dam... $575 !!! with no guarantee that the wind noise issue will go away.

-or-

2) Screw that crap and upgrade my pod lights for @ $150 (after return credits)
