It is beautiful in its desolation. Been years since I've traveled that road. It is one of the few places that hasn't changed.

Nice. If you are still in the area, Just north of Mexican Hat is a dirt road through the Valley of the Gods. Nice drive.

I think I've been down that road! If you ever get up to the NW corner of Colorado go in the back entrance to Dinosaur Nat'l Monument and take the off road trail to the Green River Canyon - Simply Magnificent! A long time ago I camped right here. It is primitive, and back then it required a 4WD vehicle.

Did both of those in my F150 before I got my Ranger then went back to Beef Basin west of Monticello, Utah in the Ranger. Not as scenic but a real test of the Ranger. Lots of rocks, steep roads, very sandy climbs and no easy rescue if in trouble 50 miles from nearest paved road and no cell service in the Canyon Rims Recreation area looking for Cliff dwelling and old ruins. Hard to find but an adventure with the Ranger
