Passenger side windshield sprayer

Passenger side windshield sprayer nozzle is only outputing a trickle while the drivers side works fine. I've tried poking it with a toothpick and needle as well as shooting some compressed air. Nothing resolves the issue. There are no leaks that I can see using the jets with hood up or hood down.

While in for some other work, the dealer looked at it (for free) and said they would have to take off the cowling and wheel well liner to do any diagnosis.

Doesn't the same main water line to the hood feed BOTH passenger and driver side nozzles? If so, I would think any work below the hood is a waste of time & dollars.

Does anyone have a shop diagram of how the nozzles tie into the waterline? And how to remove the nozzle? Thanks.

Thanks. Figures they would tell me a ton of work is required to diagnose...when both nozzles are connected to the same hose and only one nozzle is not working.

Nozzle could be clogged, try using the smallest piece of wire, paper clip, needle, etc. Toothpick might be to thick to go all the way down the nozzle...

I used to use a loose wire from a wire brush held in a vice grip.

A piece of small gauge solid copper wire should work to clear the blockage..

While most would just view and move on - Pics like this are often an Golden Opportunity to save it for a visual reference on what is hidden under panels.

You have to pull the (Insulator) down to get access - (I think) without checking

I agree, I think a clogged nozzle might be the only thing it could be.
If you cannot clear it...easy replacement.

Thanks for the input. I dropped hood liner this weekend to have a look at the nozzle. It was definitely clogged because washer fluid flowed from the water line just fine. I tried cleaning the nozzle with compressed air, paperclip, needle, etc., but nothing would clear the clog. At this point I'm assuming some plastic broke off inside.

I ordered a non-OEM part from Amazon Saturday. It arrived today and I installed it. It fit perfect and seems to work...BUT...its aimed too low. Looks like I'll be ordering the Ford OEM part. The part to NOT order is: https://a.co/d/dWz4eYS

Here's some pictures of the parts & repair.

Water line:

Access to the water line is behind the hood liner. I used a panel puller tool to pup the tabs out of the hood liner to drop the passenger side:

To pop the sprayer/jet our of the hood, I used a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the end facing the front of the hood:

The sprayer just pulls off the end of the water line

Old sprayer/jet (left) and new on the right. Obviously the newer one aims lower.

Sometimes minute differences make world of difference. I'm not sure I'd have noticed the difference until after installation either.

I usually justify the ford parts noting "hey, look how much I saved doing it myself!" Glad you know where the issue is now though.

Some nozzle designs allow you to stick a pin in the nozzle and adjust the aim by rotating it up/down and side to side. Maybe yours is adjustable.
